Nowhere is the death of gratitude more acute than at our elite universities.
Today's students hunt for micro-aggressions, slights that register only on their hypersensitive Richter scales of victimization. They pout over mean Halloween costumes, inauthentic ethnic food or politically incorrect literature assignments. They are angry even at mute statues and century-old names chiseled on the arches of their ivy-covered halls.
We rarely hear students thank their parents, their universities or the government for forking over an average of more than $30,000 per year to excuse them from the American rat race. An expensive education has become more a birthright than a gift from others.
Jeez, I'm forever grateful that my parents paid for college for me. And it was probably $5,000 a year with room and board back when I was at U of M in the 80s.

Go look. Read carefully. Come back and snicker at the poor lass. (what she needs is some dic...tionary)

This probably goes into the unexpectedly category, emphasis mine:
A new study from the Urban Institute finds lower income Americans paying 10-20 percent of their income on ObamaCare health benefits. These high costs come after generous federal subsidies covering premiums for individuals making up to $55,000 a year are considered.
OK, fair is fair. As a white Christian, I won't eat halal. I won't eat Thai. I'll even give up General Tso, which is something I actually do eat.
Now give me back the polio vaccine. It is part of the Judeo-Christian tradition. It was developed by Jews (there are two vaccines).
Also, give back pasteurized milk.
The automobile.
The airplane.
The train.
Electricity, the Internet, skyscrapers, radio, television, and the cellphone -- or any other kind of phone. Transistors, too.

IRA: Maybe more to the point: Give back the AK-47 - and every other weapon using smokeless powder, a breech-loading principle, or percussion primers. You can have black powder bombs, but only with a burning fuse, no mechanical or electrical detonators. Give back motorized vehicles, and especially airplanes. Give back any boat unless it is made of wood and powered _only_ by wind and oars.
And then you'll have no choice but to stay there and stagnate in your own lands.
Gotta love the Venice crime reports:
