Maybe the NYTimes has stepped in the Fair Use trap:
Do American oilmen have more global influence than the President?
Russia is not alone. With only a couple of exceptions, OPEC’s members all need for oil to sell anywhere from $80 to $150 per barrel to support their domestic and foreign spending. Iran is betting on its future growth coming from oil exports. And ISIS, as has been widely reported, funds its fighters and terrorists with sales from captured oil fields.

No. You can sample jet fuel anywhere you like. YOU CAN BUY IT YOURSELF.
When you do, you won't find Mercury in it. Period.

Yeah, I was reading the Wikipedia article about the Great Salt Lake the other day. One thing it states, without attribution, is that the mercury content in the lake is increasing due to worldwide presence of mercury in the atmosphere. I'm not sure I buy it because mercury and its salts are pretty dense, and it seems unlikely that they would remain suspended in the atmosphere for very long. I think it more likely that the mercury concentration is simply a function of how the Great Salt Lake works, with some contribution from mine runoff in the vicinity.

Right, I'm sure the run off from the strip mining about 15 miles away and the several smelting plants and refineries within a mile of the lake have nothing to do with it

My suggestion: "Founding bunnies."
