Hah...your cage for small children line cracked me up, Amy. My large Boxer has a crate in the house. It's his "safe space" when there's a lot of people in the house and he needs a quiet space. But every one of my grandsons has loved the crate. I have pictures of all of them in the crate. Sometimes the dog will follow them into the crate to snuggle with them. I love how much my dog loves my grandkids, and I especially love that he shares his space with them. I got this Boxer when my oldest grandson was 4 months old. They've been best friends since the beginning and seeing them play together makes me all mushy.

If I had lots of money, I'd built a bed kind of like a coffin, but with an air system for when Gregg isn't here. Both doggie and I like to sleep in a small, enclosed, very quiet space. Unfortunately, the little bugger snores like a 200 pound drunken old man, so I would also need noise-cancelling headphones as part of the system.
