When you combine this with that, you get today's Democratic voter: Very shallow experience of the world with a desperate need to be morally admired.

The entire planet is running out of other people's money, most especially yours.
That more than anything epitomizes my distrust of the left, as mentioned above: It's never their own money that they're spending to improve the world. They don't care about anything or anyone that much.
Weapons shipped into Jordan by the Central Intelligence Agency and Saudi Arabia intended for Syrian rebels have been systematically stolen by Jordanian intelligence operatives and sold to arms merchants on the black market, according to American and Jordanian officials.
I guess the Jordanians rightly figured that the rebels would busily sell what they didn't need, so they cut out the middle man...or, to quote Nicholas Cage from Lord of War to an ATF agent I guess you're not here for the alcohol or tobacco?

Having computer access is not specifically mentioned in the Constitution so in order to protect us from MASS disruption of traffic, medical records/procedures, police/fire response, and the fatalities likely to occur, the government should limit our access to smart computers to only phones, non-internet processors (unless you have a security clearance or work for Hillary), and place on a terrorist anyone (other than Hillary's people) that accesses the Internet w/o on-site government oversight.

No, Bob, I blame the "let's put all the things on the internet" craze that's currently ongoing. There's no thought to security, and if there is, it's a slapped on red headed step child since it will interfere with ease of use.
I mean, really, I need a frig with a smart hub and three cameras so I can review the contents of my frig from my smrat phone?
Come on, I know what's in there, because I put them there, and I looked this morning. No one broke into the house and stole my bacon. And when I go shopping, I write out a list. On paper. Yes, yes, I'm a luddite.
I still remember the RISKS article from not so long ago detailing how one person kept getting a virus, and then finally realized that infection source was his smrat light bulb that had been infected.
Remember: if you can review and/or control your household remotely, so can a Russian hacker bouncing off a Chinese server.

Hey Amy, finally a bit of good news regarding campus censorship. Turns out all you have to do to regain your free speech rights at UC Irvine is throw the world's biggest tantrum (in this case totally warranted), go full-court-press about your plight to local media, and higher one of Orange County's most high-powered attorneys.

When you combine this with that, you get today's Democratic voter: Very shallow experience of the world with a desperate need to be morally admired. ~ Crid at June 26, 2016 10:47 PM
Excerpt from linked article:
At some point, Democrats became the party of small-town people who think they're too big for their small towns. It is hard to say how it happened: Perhaps it is that Republicans' primary appeal is to something small-towners take for granted (tradition), while Democrats' is to something that small-towners are condemned for lacking (diversity). Both appeals can be effective, but it is only the latter that incites people to repudiate the culture in which they grew up. Perhaps it is that at universities--through which pass all small-town people aiming to climb to a higher social class--Democratic party affiliation is the sine qua non of being taken for a serious, non-hayseed human being.
For these people, liberalism is not a belief at all. No, it's something more important: a badge of certain social aspirations. That is why the laments of the small-town leftists get voiced with such intemperance and desperation. As if those who voice them are fighting off the nagging thought: If the Republicans aren't particularly evil, then maybe I'm not particularly special.
I've often felt that today's militant atheism and liberalism smacks less of a consciously-made choice and more of rebellion against one's parents and bringing; a desperate attempt to escape being average without actually excelling at anything.
Computers.

I'm not a big fan of proprietary algorithms to begin with (see Knuth's objections), but this sort of fuckery should not be tolerated.
