And now I'm going to have that tune in my head for the rest of the day. Thank you, Patrick!
Meanwhile, at the Google start page that appears when I'm using Chrome, the following appears:
It's World Emoji Day! Teen girls, code an emoji that's unique like you.
No boys allowed, I guess, but the words "code an emoji" are hyperlinked. Clicking on the link leads you to Made with Code website, where we read:
Until now, emoji representing women haven’t been, well…representative. Let’s change that. Google is working to make sure emoji include a wider range of female professions. And now, we’re inviting you to join the movement by coding your own.
Well, I suppose if it gets young ladies interested in coding, that can't be bad. But I suspect the ones who will actually go through with it are the ones who were interested in coding anyway.

I got a 90%. I answered 45 questions correctly, but it should have been 46 - the mouse slipped. Also, I assumed that one true/false question on pagan religions was a trick question. Maybe I assumed that because of, many years ago, my reading the somewhat archaic description of paganism in "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler," which said that it means "worshipping idols instead of God." (The more modern definitions of that word are "non-religious" and "not Jewish, Christian or Muslim.")
But maybe my score would have been higher if I'd just looked more closely at some of the photos - it's ridiculous how many clues are given that way! However, it's not MY fault I didn't know what L. Ron Hubbard looked like - or that I figured out one answer only because of the giveaway statue (way in the background) blowing a very long trumpet.
Also, you can find the 32-question test online - "Are You Smarter than an Atheist?" (No photos in that one.)
To my surprise, the title was perfectly sincere.
From the Christian Science Monitor:
"Atheists and agnostics, Jews and Mormons are among the highest-scoring groups in a 32-question survey of religious knowledge by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. On average, Americans got 16 of the 32 questions correct. Atheists and agnostics got an average of 20.9 correct answers. Jews (20.5) and Mormons (20.3). Protestants got 16 correct answers on average, while Catholics got 14.7 questions right."
I took the test. I only got one question wrong - on the details of salvation.
While I can see some people goofing on one or two questions on laws regarding religion and public schools, a great many of the other answers should be obvious to anyone who at least CARES about being well-informed, if only at a crossword-puzzle level.

I only missed one lenona, the one about which sect believed the end was nigh.
I chose baptist because of the fact that many baptists believe that only to be told it was the JWs
Which is total fucking BULLSHIT as according to the JWs the end was in in 1914, 1915, 1918, 1925, and 1975
I think what we're seeing here, by which I mean this soon-to-be-nicknamed summer generally (and globally), is one hazard of atomized, customized media streams.

I got a 97% on the world religion quiz, although I freely admit that one was a successful guess out of a shot in the dark, and others were done with process of elimination.
I question the accuracy of the quiz, however, because some of the statements weren't strictly accurate. For instance, it refers to "Protestantism" as a religion, which it isn't.
Also, seeing the picture of Tom Cruise over one of the questions made the answer a dead giveaway. Even if you knew nothing about Scientology, who doesn't know what religion crazy Cruise is?

Patrick, don't you mean 96% or 98%? How could you get 97% right?
Here's that other quiz, 32, questions, with no photos:
Elsewhere, someone said he only answered the question on the Great Awakening correctly due to a lucky guess. I got it right because I remembered hearing the name when we studied Emerson in high school.
From the same forum:
News: "I can't believe the average Protestant got only 50% correct (16 of 32), while Catholics did worse."
Tim J. "It's perfectly understandable since most people inherit their religion from their parents and if they chose to remain in that religion, they usually have little to no interest of learning about other religions because 'they're all wrong.' "
Satanic Reverses: Religious Exceptions Are a Real Win for Devil Worshippers
Behold the demonic spawn of the crumbling church-state divide!
By Stephanie Mencimer Mon Mar. 30, 2015 6:00 AM EDT
(there's a 3:12 video included)
Last May, the Supreme Court decided in favor of Christians asserting their right to open town meetings with prayers. An unintended consequence of this and other recent court rulings knocking holes in the wall between church and state is that Satanists, pagans, and pranksters have eagerly embraced their newfound right to express their spiritual beliefs on public time and property:
Two days after the Supreme Court's decision, a newly converted Satanist started asking towns in Florida if he could open town meetings with a prayer to his "Dude in Charge." (So far, without luck.)
(snip)
There are five more incidents - and 800-plus comments at Mother Jones. (I removed the link for THIS forum so my post wouldn't get trashed.)
Plus, near the end of the thread:
"Why Jews Don't Accept Jesus"
(link removed)
by Rabbi David Wolpe.
(He looks pretty young.)
"Many Jewish thinkers have seen Jesus as they have seen Mohammed -- as God's instrument to advance monotheism in the world. Franz Rosenzweig spoke of Judaism as the sun -- that is the source -- and Christianity as the rays of the sun -- that which spreads monotheism to the world. The great Jewish philosopher Maimonides saw Islam and Christianity as the preparation for God's eventual kingdom."
Check out the amusing part at the beginning where he recalls stumping a Baptist (almost).
To start: "Growing up in Philadelphia, I attended Akiba Hebrew Academy, a private Jewish school. In 11th grade, a Southern Baptist preacher came to speak to our class..."
You must always be on guard against this.

Terror attack in Europe vs. Texas
Bob in Texas at July 17, 2016 11:58 AM
"CALIFORNIA: The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out, bites the Governor and attacks his dog.
1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie “Bambi” and then realizes he should stop; the coyote is only doing what is natural.
2. He calls animal control. Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.
3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 for testing it for diseases.
4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.
5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is free of dangerous animals.
6. The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds to implement a “coyote awareness” program for residents of the area.
7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.
8. The Governor’s security agent is fired for not stopping the attack somehow and for letting the Governor attempt to intervene.
9. Additional cost to State of California: $75,000 to hire and train a new security agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.
10. PETA protests the coyote’s relocation and files suit against the State.
TEXAS: The Governor of Texas is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out, bites the Governor’s leather boot, and attacks his dog.
1. The Governor shoots the coyote with his State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow
point cartridge.
2. The buzzards eat the dead coyote."
