Obama Calls For Turning Healthcare Into The VA
Now that Obamacare has caused enough companies to leave the Obamacare marketplace, the time is ripe...
The WSJ writes about his revived calls for single payer -- lending support to Hillary Clinton's call for it this weekend:
Mr. Obama is re-endorsing what he had hoped in 2010 would be a way station for government-run single payer that would gradually wipe out anything resembling private insurance. Insurers can't outbid a "free" program that is open to all or most and has the unlimited access to the Treasury that Medicare enjoys. A market exodus would be inevitable.
Here's the sort of thing you have to look forward to -- the despicable lack of care we give to vets.

We have 2 hospitals, a bunch of urgent care facilities, and and multiple surgery centers, yet the Vets here have to go 2 hours or more away for care.
Oh yeah. I want some of that.

I know how much you love Obamacare Amy. So thanks for voting to keep it. :)

Life is tradeoffs -- making the least costly error, disgusting as it may be to you (or me).

More of the same for you Californians under Hillary.
Isn't it great?
It's the "sunk cost" fallacy AND the "appeal to consequences" fallacy to think that Trump is a REASON to vote for HRC.
The Liar-In-Chief endorses her. Her associates assaulted Sanders and Trump voters, and resorted to backdoor deals to deny Sanders votes. Her history is PACKED with shady deals and the endorsement of official lies - and this is somehow better?
But here's the money shot:
Using just POSITIVES, without referring to DT, cite the reasons Hillary is a PLUS.

So far, they haven't enlisted the TSA to perform colonoscopies or pap smears, so there is some good news.

Subsidized health care is rationed health care. If you are not of a group that the government prefers, you won't have to worry about the quality of your medical care, because you won't be getting any.

It seems weird to compare single-payer to the VA. We alreay have a
single-payer system for civilians. It's called Medicare and is very
different from the VA system.

Just because there is a single payer doesn't mean there can't be others. I was reading awhile back when the bill was just being passed that some country in Asia - I think Japan, maybe Korea or Taiwan - there is mandatory government insurance but many people buy supplements primarily for the speed and sometimes comfort of care.

You still will not get to say what happens until YOU are the one paying.
That someone actually wishes to pay for something someone does not get is the signal that Gruber was right: the American IS stupid.

"It's called Medicare and is very different from the VA system."
Administratively, it may be very different, but the results are about the same. I live in a medium-sized city. You know how many general practitioners there are here who accept Medicare? Two, and one of them is about to retire. Doctors just can't make money on Medicare, and they risk being charged with fraud if their accounting isn't spit-shined perfect. I've watched my dad go through this system and it breaks my heart. Medicare is rationed. Don't let anyone tell you different.
