Lena Dunham's Stylish Sexism And Racism
There's a recording Lena Dunham put out, of herself talking with someone -- her father -- who says white men should go extinct.
Heat Street writer Lukas Mikelionis didn't quite put it together that the man is her father, Carroll Dunham, despite Lena Dunham saying, "That's my dad!" and a credit for him at the end. A clip from his piece:
The man in the clip says, "well, white men are a problem ... white straight men are a big problem, that's for sure.""But I actually feel pretty good about it, I think straight white guys have been screwing things for long enough," adding: "High time for straight white males to step back and let some other people do it."
This was such an important point -- one she felt was so necessary to get out into the world -- that she had it set to animation.
Imagine if somebody said this about black men.
This is the antithesis of judging people -- as Martin Luther King called for -- by the "content of their character."
Speaking of character, my dad is a straight white guy -- one who lived a life of making sacrifices to do the right thing (like dropping out of the University of Michigan to run his dad's business when his dad got sick). He enlisted in the army during the Korean War to fight for his country -- though he was never sent over. But he has a sense of patriotism and duty that had him do that. And he worked late in dangerous areas to earn a living and feed and clothe us, and sending the three of us to college. And he taught us to be decent human beings, to live with what he called "character," and to treat other human beings with dignity and respect.
The way I see it, the last thing we want is fewer guys like my dad -- but not because he's straight and white but because he's a decent human being.
People need to stop shrugging off hateful, racist, sexist remarks like this as if it's acceptable to say them as long as a guy is straight and white and hold people as accountable as we do when somebody makes some ugly remark about anybody else.

Love the concept that only white people can be _____________ .
It's all about power. A few well place "community organizers" get things riled up and viola! Angry mob.
Make sure MSM pulls the heart strings "poor thing" (show picture of 20 year old thug as a 12 year kid) and viloa! Angry mob.
It's like shake 'n bake. A few simple ingredients and you've got things cooking.
The Japanese can be racist. The Chinese, Spanish, and so on. But "Somebody" has said no Black, SJW, or Feminist can be racist. Power!

There is nothing stylish, nor has there ever been anything stylish, about Lena Dunham, despite the best efforts of women's magazines to convince me otherwise.
This is just more of her tired schtick.

Yeah, absolute moral authority from someone who is proud of having molested her own sister.

A comment from an Atlantic article about "man-child" (comments are better than the article IMO):
"Men have been most of the leadership in every society since prehistory, even if we can note that inequality was sharper in some than in others. What you are thinking of is the matrilineal inheritance system, where young males move to the bride's village upon marriage. In the matrilineal societies, however, the bride's mother's brothers, not the mother herself, are the controllers of the family legacy.
Yeah, extreme patriarchy, a thing most prominent among animal herders and in Islam, has a lot of downsides in an industrial economy, which is why we have a bilineal system (inheritance from both parents) and nuclear families where bride & groom are both independent of their in-laws."
I understand why "Children should be seen and not heard." much better now.

I may have a hard time expressing this so that you understand what I'm saying, but it's a prevailing trend among the perpetually aggrieved to be offended over things that predate them.
Lena Dunham is a venerable 30 years old. And how much of her life has been spent with white men screwing things up? She has no right to claim an injustice against her for things that have happened before she was even born much less that weren't done to her personally.
In fact, at age 30, she has no recollection of any patriarchal society. For as long as she's been alive, women have been allowed to pursue any career that interested them, work outside the home. Yet somehow, she imagines that she is the victim of some grave injustice inflicted on her by men, and that she has the moral authority to speak out against it and call for the extinction of white men.
I was watching a video on YouTube put out by Colin Flaherty, author of "Don't Make the Black Kids Angry," and "White Girl Bleed A Lot." I can't find it now, but a black man raped a white woman, then at the completion urinated on her, claiming that this was payback for 400 years of oppression that whites have inflicted on blacks.
And all I can think is that he might be a rapist, but he wears his age damned well. Over 400 years old, and he could pass for a man in his early twenties.

Lena owes her existence to a straight white male. Does she not grasp that?
On the other hand, her father didn't seem to accomplish much,

"High time for straight white males to step back and let some other people do it."
Let?
Did someone step back and let white males do it?
How about whoever thinks he or she can "do it" jump right in and join the competition.
If they can't do it without white males letting them, what makes them think they'd be able to do it without white males helping them.

Hate is hate, and it can lead to terrible things, like executing cops or assaulting people at Trump rallies.
The "patriarchy" and "white privilege" are very unique forces. It requires a vast conspiracy of all white males to pull it off. If a few cheat by hiring minorities, they would do better and thus bust up the monopoly. Thomas Sowell notes that was exactly what inspired the Jim Crow laws: individuals saw their self-interest was served by hiring black carpenters etc., and blacks were starting to pull themselves up (early-to-mid 20th Century). So government had to step in because too many whites were cheating the monopoly. There is still one very big Jim Crow law: the Davis Bacon Act which requires all government construction projects to pay the prevailing union wage. This was because minorities were willing to take lower pay to get the work. If the gov had to pay union wages, they want ahead and hired union. But remember unions don't have to admit blacks, and many don't at all. So Davis Bacon is a huge racially biased law, but it is "ok" because unions are wonderful, doncha know.

One of things I like about being white is that I'm not beholden to a group of people solely based on their skin color. Unfortunately thanks to the new PC identity politics game being shoved down every one's throats, whites are getting back into the identity politics game. And its just as crappy as the last time and eliminationist rhetoric like this will not make it any better.

How is there anyone left who takes Lena Dunham seriously?
Yes, let's get rid of the white European men in charge and put women or non-whites in charge. After all, when non-whites or women are in charge, there is no war, violence, or corruption - except in the case of Robert Mugabe, Margaret Thatcher, Inidra Gandhi, Golda Meir, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary, Tsarina Catherine, the Dowager Empress, Benazir Bhutto, Idi Amin, Moamar Qaddafi, Saddam Hussein, Bashar al-Assad, and the list goes on. Hmmm. Seems like skin color and gender are not harbingers of violence or corruption in a ruler.

Heh. This puts a lie in their mouths. If they actually believed the nonsense coming out of their lieholes, they'd be a little more circumspect about telling us what privileged aholes we are.
Us white dudes being as dangerous as we are and all.

I think the FBI's insistence on the rule of law and that no one, not even a Clinton is above the law is do to their oath of office. Emphasis mine
But in tribal hunter-gatherer clans, that doesn't hold up so much. Your loyalties are to the clan, then the clan leaders.

The Dunhams are a good example of the phenomenon of 'rich white trash'.
They all live off of the estate of Carroll's father, who was a wealthy land owner and poultry farmer in Connecticut.
His son, Lena's Father, has never engaged in productive or public spirited endeavors, rather he's famous for his weird adolescent paintings of vaginas.
This has become the family business. Carroll paints vaginas, his wife takes lots of photos of her own vagina, and Lena complains that people don't like her vagina.
They're attention seekers and D-List socialites in the Manhattan social scene.
Lena is simply carrying on the family tradition, and playing to her audience of Progressive snobs.

She's a bit too old for that sort of thing, I mean, a lot of us go through phases of "Men/women suck! I can't get laid/find lasting love!" she should be over it by now.
