IMO, what stands out is the snotty smugness, the tribal signaling via derisive laughter and applause. Drunk with their own power & prominence, certain of more to come, they scoff and sneer.

Spotted at Monday's Maggie's Farm: You've had it at the buffet. You've had it from the takeout. You've had it à la carte. And you have this man, who died last week at 98, to thank for it.
I rather like the stuff myself.

What's funny to me is that they keep humping that chicken. There's no introspection, no "why did we lose to such a buffoon?", no serious self examination or even an after action report.
Or, as someone famously said "at this point, what does it matter". No, wait, "why aren't I ahead by 50 points?"
No, they act like the precious snowflakes they are: it is someone else's fault.

I've often wondered: who is General Tso, and why am I eating his chicken, and won't he be angry that I'm eating his chicken?

Troll level: admiral.
A decorated US Navy admiral took the time to troll Colin Kaepernick during the 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration ceremony on Wednesday — saying those who died on that fateful day “never took a knee and never failed to stand” during the national anthem.
But the collapse in public trust in the mainstream press is also driven by politics and social divides. Much of the public believes that big city reporters do not understand them or their way of life, and hold their values in contempt. And the degree of hysteria that media elites are exhibiting about “fake news,” and the rubes who were supposedly taken in, will only reinforce this perception further.
Former New York Times columnist Anthony Lewis once said that America needed a “new people.” That view remains popular at the paper. Reporters don’t fault themselves for failing to understand the electorate. They fault voters for failing to act on the media’s biased reporting. Peter Baker, the paper’s Jerusalem bureau chief, has tweeted, “Real scandal isn’t what media didn’t report; it’s what it did & readers didn’t care,” while linking to an article by his wife, Susan Glasser, from a liberal publication. In the article, she complains about the disappearance of a liberal media monopoly.
It occurred to me that the current crop of the Left is like the baseball team the Angels, that is, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Like so:
* They're old, and getting older.
* Their farm system is dysfunctional and barren of prospects. The few good assets that they had, they threw away on win-now strategies.
* They pull in a good bit of revenue, but they can't spend much of it on improvements because they foolishly signed big contracts with non-productive people.
* They can't even decide what the name of their team is.

I just heard that sad news on the radio on the way to lunch today. Bandmate Keith Emerson died earlier this year as well, didn't he?

Yes. Yes he did, in March.
MOAR chickens coming to roost. And they wonder why deep blue Iowa turned red?
Kirkwood Community College is requiring students to take an online course on “gender violence” and pass a test on it before they can register for their spring semester classes.
Those who do not complete the program will have a hold placed on their account that will block their ability to enroll in future courses until the program has been completed, the Iowa-based college states on its website, adding students must achieve a score of at least 75 percent to pass.

Neil Peart has stopped touring due to arthritis. I earnestly hope he can relax, having reigned as the King of rock drummers, and make peace with the idea that glory makes up in height what it lacks of duration.

Yeah, after everything that Neil has been through in his life, I hope he is able to find a new direction. He still has a better understanding of drumming that almost anyone who has ever lived. Maybe he can become an instructor, or a wicked drum machine programmer.
I hear that Tony Banks is also no longer able to play due to arthritis. Since he's been dabbling in classical composition, maybe he can find some solace doing that. I hope so.
