I've been gleaning all the old Cosh tweets, which is a weird way to spend one's vacation... But as my Northern Indiana cohort Micheal Jackson once, put it, I'm not like other guys....
(BTW, I did better drugs than MJ did, and haven't yet burned my scalp off while shooting a Pepsi commercial... My manly mane, while graying, is still compellingly thick and luxuriant, with just the faintest whiff of antibacterial soap... Which drives the ladies, and their housepets, wild.)
But the point is, when I came across this old news story, I thought of our little muffin Orion/Artemis, and the delusions that can blossom in the mind of a child raised in a Skinner box.
Because of my glistening reputation as an internet Thought Leader™, I'm often asked:
Who is the underappreciated, if sometimes-irritating (in a feminine way), Twitter participant who can be relied upon to explicate central themes of contemporary conservative thought from a novel perspective even as the Right itself —viewed whole— seems to collapse before our very eyes?
Those are the thoughts that make me want to shoot down Artemis from her floaty little cloud every time she quibbles about the way the world should work.
And why I harsh Amy for her chatter about 'critical thinking'... If people did it as often as they imagine themselves to, they'd be less interested in coming up with a pretentious name for it.
(BTW, I see no reason to believe that Trump or Trumpism, whatever we're calling it now) is going to make things better.)

Personally I think Trump was elected as much for what he will NOT do and will UNDO as he was for listening to families worried about putting food on the table.
MSM (snort) and many Dem. voters are simply put out that SHE was not elected. Period. Not really worried about anything else (from what I hear and read). Just that SHE was not elected.
So Crid, I agree that I "see" no reason that Trump will make "things" better.
He will be a huge success if he just gets the government back to using the Federal Register (few Lefties even KNOW what this is), pipes (LOL) some money into the Rust Belt, and stops a few companies from leaving the U.S.A. (why we succeed where Europe fails).

Trump's election was a drastic correction to the authoritarian leftist drift our government has taken on since Obama's election. Nothing more.
It didn't really matter if he'd be a good president or a bad one. With the passage of Sarbanes-Oxley, Dodd-Frank, the ACA, and other intrusive laws, the government's reach and power have expanded exponentially. Electing Trump was a desperate corrective to that, the only one offered in that election.
Most people who voted for him knew what they were getting. They know he's a vulgarian and they're okay with that, for now. So far, he's appointed people to run superfluous government agencies that don't want those agencies to exist. He's appointed an oil state governor to run the DOE; say goodbye to solar and wind boondoggles. He's appointed a climate change denier to run the EPA; say goodbye to extraneous regulations based on saving the planet from ourselves.
He's told Boeing that its cost overruns in building Air Force One are unacceptable, sending the message that other DOD boondoggles will receive scrutiny.
He sat down with Carrier and let it be known that the government is no longer negotiating each deal as a one-off but that past actions in all spheres would have an impact on the next deal the parent company negotiates with the government.
This is what he was elected to do. Whether he can hold to it, we'll see. Gingrich could not when he attained power, forgetting the Contract with America in favor of bolstering his power base and padding his ego. Nonetheless, he had an impact on reducing government waste and fraud, until undone by hubris.
We'll see if Trump understood that and can at least achieve some part of his implied promise to trim the government and reduce its interference in the everyday lives of Americans. A lot of that will depend on whether he gleefully uses the authoritarian precedents established by his predecessor or if he soberly respects the checks and balances put forth in the Constitution.

Man commits murder, thinks he's justified because he was sure it was Trump. Where's the media to ask about who is engendering a "climate of hate"?
"In this class, we will ask what an ethical white identity entails, what it means to be #woke, and consider the journal Race Traitor’s motto, 'treason to whiteness is loyalty to humanity.'"
From the official course description for "The Problem of Whiteness," a course offered in the African Cultural Studies department of my university, the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
"Valerie Fairman, ’16 and Pregnant’ Star, Dies at 23"
Rather generous use of the word 'star,' I think. But we now live in a country and a time where getting knocked up at 16 can confer upon someone the ultimate status: reality TV fame.
Wilbert Carter, 32, could face more than 10 years in prison for leaving the child alone in a locked Lincoln Town Car for 16 hours. Circuit Judge Jeannie Hong revoked Carter’s bail and ordered him behind bars pending his sentencing. Defense attorney Margaret Mead became emotional and pleaded, “It’s the holidays! He has two other children!” The Baltimore Sun reported. “There is a child that’s dead,” the judge replied.
Gay liberal university professor excitedly Tweets that his "husband is running down Ivanka Trump" (and her children) "to harass them" on their Jet Blue flight.
Airline kicked the jerk off the plane. No word yet from Hunter University about the professor cheering the intimidation of a woman with her two children.

Another passenger told TMZ that Trump attempted to distract her children and ignore the man, who was subsequently removed from the flight by JetBlue personnel. “You’re kicking me off for expressing my opinion,” he yelled as he was led off the plane, TMZ reported.

Allegedly, there's been an uptick in interest in guns from those on the left. A revival of the 2nd Amendment? I suspect that suddenly there will be renewed interest in the 4th and 5th amendments as well.

Fisking Lena Dunham isn't hard. But I think it works much better if you're British and don't hold back.
'My life is and always will be devoted to reproductive justice and freedom,' said Lena.
No it is not you daft trout. Your life is devoted to trying to position yourself as chief cheerleader for every man-hating opportunity there is.
Posing for pictures. Then calling out the guy on photo-shop for trying to make the images a little less frightening. Being overweight and trying to celebrate it, like diabetes type II is the new feminist frontier.
I expect she wakes up every day wishing she was black, so she could truly own that cause too.
It’s why we ended up with a woman like Rachel Dolezal, who swears she’s Afro-Caribbean, despite the fact both her parents are white.
