The problem with trying to intimidate people on Twitter by asking them if they'll step into a UFC octagon with you is that some of them will do so cheerfully, and feel totally at home.
My prediction is going to be like this: Their sentences are going to be suspended because feelings and uh, these girls are going to be sad if they go to jail.
From today's Most Important Things in the World file:
"A Mississippi father has pleaded guilty in the hot car death of his baby daughter, but he won't go to prison. Joshua Blunt pleaded guilty to culpable negligence manslaughter and was given a five-year suspended sentence."
Always reassuring to know that you'll pay more for an expired parking meter than you will after you kill your own child due to your own admitted negligence.
"Always reassuring to know that you'll pay more for an expired parking meter than you will after you kill your own child due to your own admitted negligence."
In these cases as well as in the case of abortion, I have to ask: who is harmed more than the parent by that death? Society, who will lie to the citizen to get his money and treat him badly if he swears to serve it? Activists, who presume from a distance to know more about suffering than the bereaved?
We make judgments all the time. Where on the scale does this land next to the murderer of multiple strangers?
If "three strikes" laws are unjust, how can a "one strike" be?
(In related articles, the race card was thrown, alleging that white women get away with this in Mississippi.)
Oh, golly!... What are we supposed to do now??!?
