Do you know what problem just got solved? It’s invisible for now, but later everyone will be able to see it.
Don’t see it?
Okay, I’ll just tell you.
With the failure of the Ryan healthcare bill, the illusion of Trump-is-Hitler has been fully replaced with Trump-is-incompetent meme. Look for the new meme to dominate the news, probably through the summer. By year end, you will see a second turn, from incompetent to “Competent, but we don’t like it.”
I have been predicting this story arc for some time now. So far, we’re ahead of schedule.
They would have gotten away with it, too, if not for the drug dealer with a recording video security system.
Three cops who worked for the city of East Cleveland are in prison. Cases against 22 alleged drug dealers have been dismissed. Authorities are searching for another 21 people who are eligible to have their convictions tossed. On top of those injustices, there is a slim chance that any of them will be fully reimbursed, because the disgraced officers and their former employer don't have the money.
The Associated Press stylebook has been updated to instruct journalists not to use the gender-neutral pronoun ‘ze’.
The AP Stylebook is the most popular grammar style and usage guide in US newsrooms, giving guidance on appropriate language and grammar usage.
The guidelines were updated this week, with extensive changes to an entry on gender as well as gender-neutral language.
Anyway, my heart was warmed this morning by the reaction on Flyertalk, a board populated by airline employees and frequent flyers. I'd estimate 95% of the posters were on the airline's side:
UA won friends with curmudgeons like me. I don't like kids on planes, yoga pants or people who get upset about random news stories like this. I also have a lot of love for people enforcing rules or standards no matter their popularity. I will fly United again for sure.
Marry me.
Then the parents should have some responsibility to be a parent, put their foot down and make them dress per the dress code. This isn't rocket science, or even advanced geometry.
May I have a sister wife, please?

Not surprisingly, the woman who tweeted about the leggings/airline story got it completely and totally wrong
Shannon Watts is typically wrong. Among other things, she believes that silencers on guns reduces the noise output to near nothing.

I R A D A, how ridiculous can someone get? I'd never heard of this person before, but this breakdown at a frequent flyer site sums it up well:
I hate calling someone out directly, but in this case I think it’s warranted. Shannon was the bystander at the Denver airport, and essentially manufactured this drama with a series of increasingly polarizing tweets. Despite the apologies and clarification from United, and the insights from hundreds of people who have flown on staff travel passes or interacted with non-revenue flyers, Shannon has maintained her rancor and unbridled antagonism towards United.
After a day of reflection, she went so far as to publish a post on Medium once again condemning United for “sexualiz[ing] teenage girls” and placing “an undue burden on…female customers.” Not only does she refuse to acknowledge that these were not customers, she ends by shaming everyone involved for paying attention to her dramatic tale, rather than focusing on the other important issues she champions. The hypocrisy and intransigence is stunning.
Even after he had been shot, Lindskog calmly instructed another soldier who came to his side on how to administer first aid to him, the soldier would later tell Lindskog's mother.

The worst impulse in the human heart is sanctimony: 'Whatever the cost, it's WORTH it!'
No single life in America should me so much to us that go this far.
