"Sees the alt-right and SJWs as ideological twins. "
He's got that part right.

Not new. The religious have insisted on this for years. You may have seen "gcotharn" here a few years ago, calling the scientific method "scientism" to try to degrade it to just another belief system.
Poor fellow could not for the life of him understand what "show your work" meant, much less how to rule out other causes for the event you cite.

The notion of "scientism" does have a point. There is a huge amount of phony science passing for the real thing these days.
The problem is that nearly all research in pure science is funded by biased government agencies such as EPA, which has been shown (in Reason articles going all the way back to its founding in the early seventies) to deliberately destroy the career of any scientist who questions its party line -- not only by withholding funding but by active smear jobs.
So long as the left gets away with its Big Lie that government agencies are never corrupt, there will be more Lysenkoism. EPA is the State Science Institute straight out of Atlas Shrugged.

"The notion of "scientism" does have a point."
Not at all, when the caller insists that the method itself is the problem - like this.
