When firing squads convened in olden days, all but one marksman was given live ammo, and one was randomly and covertly issued a blank. In this way, the guilt of killing was ameliorated for them all. The blank shooter theoretically wouldn't know he was the one, as all were aiming for the heart and shooting in the same instant. But even if he could tell, the point was that each of them knew they might have been issued the blank, so all were morally soothed.
That's how this wonderful new study revises the perspective about my clumsiest love encounters from years gone by: 'Hey!— In retrospect, she might have been really into it, and not mortified to tears or laughter!'

Ppen, I wonder if that photo might be mislabeled... It used to be said that a contemporary North Korean's diet left him up to six inches shorter than cousin nourished in the South.
That's what happens when you raise a generation of serfs with methamphetamine for breakfast.
Besides, the uniform on the middle guy looks more old-time Commie.

Yes mislabeled.
My understanding is SK and NK both try to pick their biggest guys when doing these types of military displays.
From the beginning, I was inspired by what I witnessed in my own lifetime. In 1962, when Algeria gained its independence, we were a fairly optimistic, mostly atheist country. Following one and a half centuries of French rule, religion was totally marginal, a superstition for grannies. Then little by little, in the 1970s, it started to change – more mosques, more preachers, more and more people praying, and without even noticing we entered a war that cost us 200,000 dead and a devastated country. Today Islam governs my country. Now I see the same thing happening in Europe.
