Sickie
Have had food poisoning for a few days. Slept all weekend. Hoping to be better on Monday, the first of my two deadline days. Gregg and the wee doggie have, of course, been wonderful.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Please get well soon!

I live in a quiet neighborhood. I rarely see police. And when I do, they're usually in pursuit of a person or persons of interest who don't live there.

A change in the scoreboard? An apology for an apology. Something is happening.

That viral video of the kid being pulled in the water by a sea lion? Dock officials blame shitty parenting, and in blunt terms. How refreshing.
“It wasn’t a wise move by that family, c’mon, give your head a shake. This little girl was snapped at once, maybe you shouldn’t do this,” said Bob Baziuk of the Steveston Harbor Authority in British Columbia, Canada. The dock also has ample signage instructing people not to feed the creatures, but some visitors just ignore them, as this family evidently did, he added.
The head of the harbor made similar scathing remarks to the Canadian press. “You wouldn’t go up to a grizzly bear in the bush and hand him a ham sandwich, so you shouldn’t be handing a thousand-pound wild mammal in the water slices of bread,” Robert Kiesman, chair of the Steveston Harbour Authority, told the CBC.
