We're Deporting Adopted Children Who Never Had Their Citizenship Paperwork Filled Out
This shouldn't happen. If you are brought over as a child adoptee and somebody neglects to fill out the paperwork to make you a citizen, we shouldn't deport you.

It didn't help that Adam had criminal convictions -- but you can see that he had an abusive upbringing and it sounds like he eventually straightened out. But the judge had no choice, no discretion, per the law, because Adam had criminal convictions in his past.
He's now separated from his wife and children, who are back in the States.

I would like to see the criminal record.
Seems like this guy blew several opportunities.
There is no *right* to American citizenship. Sometimes it is just an easy way to get rid of foreign nationals who have become a burden on the justice system.

Nobody checked. Reminds me of a comment from the famous aviator Earnest Gann that, during his entire flying career, nobody ever asked to see his pilot's license.

How does international adoption not provide citizenship?
I guess, not before 2000.

Even now Katrina if you don't fill out the paperwork then the paperwork doesn't get filled out.
