(The following was not mentioned in the above article.) It's interesting - while some have criticized Gore, as an environmentalist, for having more than two children, I don't recall very many such criticisms coming from conservatives, per se!

When conservatives DO criticize American citizens for having too many children, they never seem to remember that the average conservative also tends to claim that Americans are having too few children!

Forgot to explain: If too many well-educated Americans simply cannot afford to feed and raise kids in a safe neighborhood, or if they (and the richer ones) just plain don't WANT more than one kid, if that many, then the future taxpayers will come from the lower classes - and we may end up having to focus more on the problems of education among the poor.
