It's worse than that. From the link:
If it weren't for double standards, they'd have none at all.

Say again why we care? Is she not one of those most magnificent of public figures who *ceases to exist* when we turn away?

Still totally digging that Amy posted the Kevlar photo, but still hating Franken more for his politics than for his sexual misconduct, for which he has apparently been forgiven. That snapshot will be how he's remembered by the public; no one can quote a line from one of his tv show skits.

You mean Stuart Smalley?

Why was that awful skit turned into an even worse movie, I'll never know.

So, there are "targets" to all this?
I though this was about changing attitudes toward sexual assault, not taking down targets.
When Republican Senator, Bob Packwood, was accused of sexual improprieties with his staff, the Republican party went after him as vigorously as did the Democrats, despite knowing that Packwood's seat would subsequently go to a Democrat. Mitch McConnell called it a choice for the party to "retain the Senate seat or retain our honor."
When Bill Clinton was accused of sexual misconduct, a prominent feminist, Nina Burleigh, offered to give him a blowjob.
Republican Roy Moore's 40-year-old indiscretions, though somehow acceptable in 1970s Alabama, have been greeted with modern-day opprobrium by prominent Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan. Meanwhile, Al Franken's 1990s pantomimed boob grab is being kicked">https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/11/democrats-embrace-ethics-committee-inquiry-for-senator-franken/546122/">kicked to the ethics committee by prominent Democrats, like Chuck Schumer, in an effort to avoid expressing an actual opinion about it.
Of course, one is a sitting senator (albeit, one elected with a trunkload of "found" ballots after multiple recounts) and one is merely a candidate for the office. So, there are different mechanisms in place for investigation and censure but, unlike the Packwood case, there is no widespread call for his resignation by his own party's national organization.
Does this mean the Republicans are pure of heart while the Democrats are hypocrites? No. Both parties are full of conniving and scheming political operatives. However, it does make you wonder what is going on with the sudden onslaught of sexual misconduct accusations. Was this a housecleaning operation by the Democrats to rid themselves of the Clintons and their supporters that simply got out of hand?
Was Dunham's "targets" remark a turn of phrase or a Freudian slip? Was she intimating a larger conspiracy or simply expressing an internal belief that one should not go after people on one's own side of the political spectrum. And should politics matter when exposing and condemning vile behavior?

Not a teacher, but I know several.
You, the public, vote again and again "for the children!" without once asking where the money goes.
To administrators. Not the classroom.
Your beef is not with tax law. It's with the school board. The public does not care once they can say they support their schools.
