Okay, further research on Lauer shows that there were "rumors" and it was "common knowledge" all along. So, I guess firing is justified. After all, there were, you know, rumors.
Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Roy Price, Chris Sovino, Mark Halperin, Michael Oreskes, Lockhart Steele et al. You'd think these companies would have better hiring practices in place. Especially when there are rumors.

Conan, here's NBC's tweet, emphasis mine.
Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News. On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.
I don't know what they mean by "detailed", but I would say it names names, time, date, and place with adequate specificity to make termination for cause easy to defend against a lawsuit.
You'd think these companies would have better hiring practices in place.
If it weren't for double standards...

Today, in another round of social justice with a coat of science, here's another episode of Let's blame white men who can't afford to sue us.
NBC/Comcast is a well-capitalized entity, and presumably they wouldn't leave themselves open for a lawsuit without sufficient armaments. Where could Lauer go? His position in the market is lucrative but nearly unique, and none of the other outlets will want him now. So it's a safe bet that he'd sue ferociously for wrongful termination if he thought he could win.
Also, I didn't read every word because I don't care about the guy, but I think she may right about Taibbi. He may be parsing, but he's doing it convincingly.

The tribunal found that the packet was deliberately used to operate as an elaborate “Faraday cage” - an enclosure which can block electromagnetic fields - and prevented his employer knowing his location. The cage set-up was named after English scientist Michael Faraday, who in 1836 observed that a continuous covering of conductive material could be used to block electromagnetic fields.

Asked what would have happened to him if he had done such a thing, McCullough said: “I'd be sitting in Leavenworth right now.”
But back to to the original topic, we are shutting down our rather hilarious project because we can no longer compete with our competition. We have come to realize that our competition is not other satirical websites, but rather the people we are trying to satirize. About a week ago, after a short hiatus from the website and in light of the recent sexual assault allegations currently afflicting Hollywood, we put out another article titled “Why we should believe women who accuse right wingers of rape more than those who accuse liberals”. The article is a total caricature intended to be as ridiculous as possible, basically arguing that because liberals are good people, we should forgive them when they rape women. We thought no one in the world could possibly hold views as ridiculous as that, so we wrote it as satire and published it.
So imagine our surprise when an actual Feminist and self-proclaimed expert on “rape culture” wrote an article for The Washington Post no less, using the same rational and reasoning as our satirical article that was written just a few days before:

Political unrest where I live.
This past Sunday there was a presidential elections and the Supreme Electoral Court hasn't proclaimed a winner, plus the building has been overrun by the military since Monday.
Why is it taking them so long for announce a winner? Because it takes a lot of time to forge so many paper ballots.
It's gonna be the second time this midget stole the elections.
He did a smart move though, he fucked-up Every.Single.Sector (banking, farming, retail, education, media) in the country except the police and the Military. In fact, he put them in a pedestal and they're untouchable, so of course the armed forces are on his side.
