When #MeToo Is #MeLie
A woman pleaded guilty to making a false report of rape to Delta College police, reports Jackie Salo in the New York Post:
Mary Zolkowski, 21, admitted in court Tuesday that she lied to authorities about being raped by a stranger in the parking lot of Delta College in Bay City, according to MLive....In police interviews, Zolkowski said she walking to her car when an unknown man grabbed her from behind. She claimed in her initial account that the stranger raped her without a condom while holding her face and throat.
Zolkowski, however, refused a medical examination and didn't have any bruising consistent with the alleged injuries, authorities said.
Investigators first noticed discrepancies in her story when they contacted school officials about her claim that she dropped her classes after the attack. The school informed the officers that she dropped the courses prior to the supposed incident.
When a rape is reported, there are questions about the perp: what the person looked like, etc.
This is how innocent people have their lives ruined.
Just a suspicion here, but -- noting the dropping of classes prior to the supposed attack --could this have anything to do with needing the sort of do-over colleges often give students who go through some sort of death or trauma?

My money is more on parents: 'Mom and Dad I partied too much and was failing' gets a lot less sympathy than 'Mom and Dad I was raped so I can't, I just can't'

Unfortunately what is going through the minds of hard core feminists who see this report is probably something on the order of the following:
Obviously the patriarchy used facts and reality to discredit this budding feminist. Everyone knows that facts and reality are sexist, misogynist tools of the patriarchy. The case was probably investigated by white cis (what the hell is cis anyway?) middle aged detectives. This woman, like all women, should be believed without damaging her story with discriminatory things like facts and evidence.

I'm more shocked that a news outlet not only displays her name, but also posted a picture of her.
Usually these liars are always shielded by the news media because we must protect their feelings from getting hurt.

Given that the best research reveals that upwards of 50% of rape accusations are false, I assume that at least half of the #metoo accusations are, as well. And that is probably being too generous.
