I thought the overwrought photography/design of the Weiss piece was Editorial's way of warning Bari that she was never actually going to have free reign, even if they let her say want she wanted to say.
Someone this morning pointed out the clumsiness of "intellectual dark web" as a name for this phenomenon.

From Sixclaws's post: "But their antics were met with disapproval from the school, Ysgol Gyfun Gymunedol Penweddig, in Aberystwyth, North Wales ..."
Condition for graduation: Spelling the name and location of the school without looking.

She's got prime real estate in the New York Times; not much oppression there.
I agree that the IDW label is branding, if not an open pitch for a book deal.

Bureaucrats -left, right, and center- in the West are likely salivating at the idea of implementing this.
On the bright side, it's first time in years that the media is not parading these boys as trans just because they chose to wear a dress.

From Joanne Jacobs:
I can't imagine who would be surprised by that.

> not much oppression there.
Indeed, which is why I didn't say she was oppressed.
Meanwhile, I made this connection on a conscious level on Monday morning, but didn't say it out loud... Props to the pros.

One, day we can all aspire to a portrait in front of leafy foliage... Just like that dreamboat Barack Obama!

Hi Ben! Hi Raddy!
What's it like to be part of the problem?
Crid at May 9, 2018 12:28 PM
Best-, or most-telling-, ever use of the editorial "we."
Crid at May 9, 2018 12:33 PM
Also, re: 11:41 AM, it turns out that all foliage is leafy. not just the Photoshopped stuff in tawdry official portraits of shabby presidents.
Sorry. I feel bad for the mistake.
Whoops!
Also, it turns out that all presidents are shabby, not just the cheaply-memorialized ones.
Again, my mistake entirely.
Sometimes, I just try too hard....
