Babi Yar was only the third largest massacre of Jews during the war.

Now, if you really believed Donald Trump or Kirstjen Nielsen or Sarah Huckabee Sanders are keen on engaging or endorsing this sort of behavior one day, or anything close to it, you’re a depraved coward for not taking up arms and stopping them. And the only other possible reasons for you to constantly compare them to Nazis are that you’re tragically illiterate on basic history or a hopelessly unimaginative and dishonest partisan — or maybe both.
I find myself disappointed that Paul Ryan was standing to the side cheering. I had considered him one of the more civilized and principled politicians in Washington.
The only mitigating factor in comparing these two incidents may be that Biden was trying to use the stop at the bakery as a campaign photo op and was denied.
Sanders, on the other hand, was not trying to use the Red Hen as a photo op. She had simply stopped by for supper with her family.
Still, our baker could have served the vice president and foregone being in the picture. No need for loud and public rejection.

Shocking report: UK patients killed ‘if a nurse didn’t like you’
Writing in the Times, Dominic Lawson points out that "the ones most likely to get the treatment appeared to be not the sickest, but the most 'difficult'. As the stepson of one of the victims remarked: 'If a nurse didn't like you, you were a goner.'"
Never be scared of being labeled "fringe" for your political opinions. Less than a decade ago, everybody hated u for being a Bush supporter. Now Bush supporters are the mainstream. Today's fringies are tomorrow's mainstream. Just enjoy the ride! Weirdos.
Well, well, well. Who could have predicted this? What did President Lightbringer say? get in their faces?
MacDonald was one of the first to set up shop outside the Red Hen on Tuesday. Protests had been planned for that afternoon in advance of the restaurant's usual opening at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays.
But soon, word spread that the restaurant would stay closed. Justin Peery, the owner of Good Place Farms Bed & Breakfast — which hosted the Sanders family last week — said Wilkinson will not reopen the restaurant until July 5.

Did you know that homosexuals will have no rights and we're opening internment camps now that Kennedy is retiring? It's true! Cher's not hot-doggin' ya!
I'd quote some of the other equally-nutty celebrity tweets but Cher's captured the vibe of them all.

I have every intention of never marrying, so that decision doesn't affect me. But even if I did want to marry someday, I wouldn't worry about gay rights. The big one has already been won, thanks to the rather overreaching decision of Obergefell v. Hodges.
And regardless of what the new appointee thinks should be done about gay marriage, that genie will not go back into the bottle.

Patrick, did you ever hear what Fran Lebowitz quipped, long ago? Something like:
"I always thought the point of being gay was that you didn't HAVE to get married - or visit your partner in the hospital."
Hypocrisy.
