How To Sleep In Goat Class, Even If You Have A Middle Seat
There's this thing about heads and the brain. When your head starts to fall (when you're sleeping while seated), your brain goes, "Wake the fuck up!"
So some bright person figured out that you need a thing to rest your chin and face on so your head doesn't do the falling thing and you stay asleep.
I bought the first generation of this -- the Trtl airline sleep scarf/chin/face rest. It's more expensive than the others -- at $29.99, but I know it works.
It has a plastic thingie inside on one side -- that's what you rest your chin/face on. There's Velcro to keep it in place (around your neck).
However, here's one for just $12.98 that looks good -- as in, supportive. Looks like it works.
And though you can pull it up over your eyes, I love the Lewis N. Clark eye mask, for just $7.88, if you get the black. It has padding under the eyes and it's really soft. I got the pink. (Just ordered a new one, and it's the nice ripstop nylon that came instead of the furry version (which collects lint, etc.).
Of course, you'll need something to read on the plane, and I recommend my "science-help" book, "Unf*ckology: A Field Guide to Living with Guts and Confidence." (Only $10.86 with Amazon's discount; $9.99 on Kindle.) New copies support the author -- as do reviews (even the briefest!) posted on Amazon. (I really need more reviews now!)
