This rapid-fire censorship, two months before an election is no accident. Big tech is betting the Democrats win, and are doing everything in their power to make it happen. After election day, they hope to be rewarded.

I wouldn't have hated Easy Listening so much as a kid if if they'd promised it was was going to get as admirably weird as the rest of adulthood aspired to be (and has, in fact, become).
This isn't just an old man's admiration of legato synth-strings: These people trade melody fragments all the time, after hitting them with hammers so hard that you can't be sure of what you're hearing.
Crid at August 18, 2018 4:49 PM
Y'know, back in the day, the good guys would joyously wreak that devastation to their own darling melodies in the time it took brew a cup of coffee.
And we liked it that way.

You seek to depict him as relatably human.
"Pants legs? One at a time!," you promise, as if there were doubt.
Crid at August 18, 2018 5:09 PM
I once saw an interview with Donald Trump in which he actually came across as a human being. I won't argue that "relatably human" is his default position, but this interview was interesting. It was about his children and he said he thought he had been a good father, but admitted he had been a lousy husband.
Perhaps it was only through the miracle of editing that a human Trump emerged from the orange-lacquered façade, but I keep hoping that, some day, we'll see flashes of that Donald Trump again.

Good luck with that Conan. Maybe the president thing will mellow him. But honestly given his age expecting him to change and especially expecting that change to be for the better are long odds.

Why?
People are as we find them. I assume you haven't been hoping that other popular personages randomly conform to your presumptions about human perfection.
If you're just in the mood for a rehabilitation project, it's certain that you can find a more promising daydream of personal & socially-consequential growth than Trump.
Crid at August 19, 2018 6:21 PM
Yeah. I'm not holding my breath.
No rehabilitation project. I was just hoping for the occasional sign of self-awareness from the man elected to be the president of 300 million people. We'll probably see definitive evidence of Bigfoot before that, but one can hope.
