Well, those 6 figure salaries don't pay themselves, you know.
Jeff Moritz was shocked when he visited his mother’s Grandview Heights home in early 2016. An Ohio State report showed his father’s original 2001 gift of $30.3 million — consisting of subsequently sold 409,478 shares in Cardinal Health, where his father was a director — had shrunk by $8.4 million over the years to $21.9 million, a decline of 28 percent. ...
The endowment also was being tapped for only 12 to 16 full-ride scholarships each year instead of the 30 grants mandated in the gift agreement. “My dad’s legacy and what he wanted to do for the law school is evaporating. I find it sickening,” Moritz said.
Unintended consequences, or "I can't hear you over my virtue signalling"?
“At least if you’re in Birmingham, you know you ain’t X and you know how to protect yourself and prepare yourself,” Wise adds. “This guy was like, ‘It’s amazing living in San Francisco all the crap I experienced that these white liberals just didn’t see at all.’ He ended up moving back to the South, too, because it was so much easier to deal with the overt racism than the covert, colorblind racism that you deal with in liberal cities.”
Which member of your family have you failed to enthuse with your candidacy?

I secretly think this about most of you guys most of the time.
When butthurts are elevated to the stature of principle (without articulation), it's usually because someone hasn't done the reading... And this place is the concentric metaphysical locus of White Guy Butthurt.
Hi Crid. Regarding what I said in the other thread about "skimming" in restaurants and Anthony Bourdain, I found the passage - it was actually his boss "Bigfoot" who caught the thieves.
In the paperback edition of Kitchen Confidential, it's on page 97.
"Once, after years of ordering frozen BeeGee shrimp from a reputable seafood purveyor, Bigfoot discovered a hastily applied label indicating net weight. When it peeled off, he realized the company had, for years, been printing their own fake labels, heat-sealing them over the actual weight printed on the box and cheating him out of a few ounces of shrimp every five pounds. Next time the company sent Bigfoot a bill, he simply send them a Polaroid photo of the incriminating box, label peeling off to reveal actual weight. And the next time, too. And for almost a year after, Bigfoot didn't pay for fish. He never discussed it with the company -- and they never said a word. They just kept sending him free fish until they figured all that retroactive skim was paid back. When Bigfoot finally stopped ordering altogether they didn't wonder why."

Frank Oz is getting a taste of what Social Justice is:
Josh Webb-Thomson is in a dark place and he's gone missing in the Bakersfield, CA area. If you're in California, please look at this video and if you have any lead on his whereabouts notify the authorities. PLEASE RT.
Here's a tighter condensation of the Frank Oz exchange described by Sixclaws. And yeah, Oz appears to be amazed at what's being said to him.

Well, for starters, as someone (many people?) said, chances are if he got removed from consideration, Trump would, likely, simply and unabashedly get a candidate who would be even MORE likely to overturn Roe vs. Wade. So everyone who doesn't want that needs to keep that in mind.
And a psychologist got a letter printed in the New York Times - yesterday? - that said, in effect, that you simply cannot punish even a convict who's a minor the way you would an adult convict. Can't argue with that - especially when it comes to the court of public opinion for those who have not been convicted or even arrested.
But in today's Boston Globe...
"I suspect that Brett Kavanaugh and his supporters believe he deserves to be able to move on with little or no consequences from alleged teenage bad behavior. That may be a reasonable outcome.
"On the other hand, Kavanaugh has indicated that he would deny a 17-year-old girl the same opportunity."
