Michael Drejka, who was charged with manslaughter for killing Markeis McGlockton outside a convenient store when McGlockton shoved him to the ground as he confronted his girlfriend about his use of a handicapped parking space, has broken his silence as he speaks to a reporter from jail.

The New Yorker joins a growing list of news organizations that have reversed their decision to engage with conservatives after a public outcry
Notice the language MSN uses to describe the incident: "...the day he gunned down an unarmed black man in the parking lot of a Florida convenience store."
Gunned down. Not "shot." "Gunned down." Not "shot his assailant." "Gunned down." Not "after being attacked." "Gunned down." Not "in a dispute." "Gunned down." Not even "allegedly in self-defense." "Gunned down." The trial hasn't even started and MSN has already determined that Drejka's guilty of murder.
Now, we on this thread may differ in our interpretation of what happened, and we did. We're not journalists, charged with reporting the facts to the public. We're the howling mob.
This is an example of why people don't trust "the media." GM pick-ups do not explode when hit. They do explode when an incendiary device is placed beneath them. Management incompetence at Illinois Power did not cause out-of-control costs at the Clinton nuclear plant (60 Minutes November 1980). The Texas Air National Guard did not use Microsoft Word in 1972.
And, even if Michael Drejka did not need to shoot to defend himself, Markeis McGlockton was not "gunned down." At least not until a jury presented with all the facts in the case decides he was.
In reality, a reported history of waving a firearm around during traffic altercations will probably doom Drejka to prison, no matter the rightness, if any, of his actions that day.

Conan is correct. While I felt (and still feel) that Drejka was justified, MSN's language is extremely biased.

A boycott Nike campaign is underway as they have debuted a new ad featuring Colin Kaepernick.
In any case, like many others have stated, I find Kaepernick's sentiments to be offensive and completely self serving. "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. #JustDoIt."
I fail to see how a man who doesn't work, isn't in prison or facing criminal charges and still has 40 million dollars in the bank has "sacrificed everything."
I mean, Pat Tillman gave up a promising career in the NFL (unlike Kaepernick, whose career in the NFL was in doubt, even before he got embroiled in this controversy), joined the military and died in Afghanistan.
That's much closer to "sacrificing everything."

I would disagree with burning the Nike stuff, you should give it to charity instead. Let the homeless and less fortunate sport the Swoosh.
On the other hand, "get woke, go broke". And Tillman:
In response to the Kaepernick/Nike debacle, which has prompted a boycott of Nike, a black woman tweeted that her race is sufficiently large to keep Nike afloat.
I responded, "No, stealing Nikes from stores, especially during natural disasters when the stores are closed, will not keep Nike afloat."
The removals took place over several years and were brutal.
According to anthropologist David Vine: “British agents, with the help of Navy Seabees, quickly rounded up the islanders’ pet dogs, gassing and burning them in sealed cargo sheds. They ordered … the remaining Chagossians onto overcrowded cargo ships. During the deportations, which took place in stages until May 1973, most Chagossians slept in the ship’s hold atop guano — bird crap. Prized horses stayed on deck. By the end of the five-day trip, vomit, urine and excrement were everywhere. At least one woman miscarried. Arriving in Mauritius and the Seychelles, Chagossians were literally left on the docks. They were homeless, jobless, and had little money, and they received no resettlement assistance. In 1975, the Washington Post broke the story in the Western press and found them living in ‘abject poverty’. Most remain deeply impoverished to this day.”

Nike was allegedly funding Colin Kaepernick's kneeling protest during the national anthem the entire time, a charge Nike denies.

You know who else will benefit from such backdoors? criminals, as they'll sooner or later find out how to exploit them for their own purposes.

Good thing there was no Twitter in 1904.
Sherwin-Williams held liable for ad claims from 114 years ago.
The door to hell has just been opened. Government now has a new way to compel companies to fund its programs.
