Forget it, Ting Su, it's California, you're screwed.
The Women’s Beer Forum, hosted by Los Angeles-based Eagle Rock Brewery, is the latest victim in a long line of so-called “gender-based discrimination” lawsuits initiated by various men’s rights activists (MRAs), who are lashing out events and promotions designed for women.
According to its GoFundMe page, the monthly meetup—started by Eagle Rock co-founder Ting Su—was created in March 2011 after Su witnessed women get “pigeonholed by their male counterparts into drinking only specific beer styles.
Professional protesters? yes, Virginia, that's a career option. I'm surprised that the LA Times is giving away the secret. But this sounds like a RICO violation.
But according to a lawsuit filed by a Czech investor, Crowds on Demand also takes on more sordid assignments. Zdenek Bakala claims the firm has been used to run an extortion campaign against him.
The only possible explanation for your years-long bitterness toward the Golden State:
It was the summer of 1985. Your mullet was thick and complicated on the top, but sleek and aerodynamic on the sides. You were just out of college (degree or no)— And a shapely blonde from San Luis Obispo —lissome and languid, tawny from of the beach and free-spirited from the culture— told you she only liked you as a friend and was never, ever going to fuck you.
You married another woman... One from Massachusetts. She's okay...
But you never, ever forgot your California dream girl.
Key differences between Donald Trump and Adolph Hitler--Hitler served honorably in the military, Trump didn't; Hitler was faithful to his wife, Trump cheated on all his wives; Hitler wrote a book, Trump's were all ghostwritten.
Say what you will about Hitler, but he's the man who killed Hitler.

Because the progressives of the time liked Hitler. Not as much as Mussolini, or Uncle Joe Stalin, but there was some admiration.
That whole declaration of war betwixt the Reich and the USofA put them in a huge bind, and forced them to discard the label "progressive" for "liberal". But they still had the same agenda. These are their ideological grand children, and so they have similar tastes.

Didn't see that coming.
An anti-police protester who told a 9/11 widow that her “husband should probably f***ing rot in the grave” has been fired from his job.
"Prior to the 2016 election I explained how America had already “stepped over the threshold of a revolution,” that it was “difficult to imagine how we might step back, and futile to speculate how it might end.” Regardless of who won the election, its sentiments’ growing “volume and intensity” would empower politicians on all sides sure to make us nostalgic for Donald Trump’s and Hilary Clinton’s moderation. Having begun, this revolution would follow its own logic.
What follows dissects that logic. It has unfolded faster than foreseen. Its sentiments’ spiraling volume and intensity have eliminated any possibility of “stepping back.”"

Fewer Births Than Deaths Among Whites in Majority of U.S. States
Nice, Gog. I can always count on you to provide a little humorous variety around here. Thanks.
But in the meantime, aside from the foolishness of comparing almost any living person to Hitler, I doubt it was true that he was faithful to Eva Braun - aside from their one-day marriage, obviously.
From historian Richard Shenkman's book:
"...Glenn Infield, author of Hitler’s Secret Life, estimates that Hitler as an adult had affairs with at least eleven women, including an Italian countess; a German actress, a niece, a sixteen-year-old, Richard Wagner’s daughter-in-law, and Hermann Goring’s wife, and insists the Fuhrer had sex with many of them. It’s suggested that Hitler may have even had a child by Goring’s wife.
"Infield’s evidence, because it largely consists of statements made by the women themselves, is considered unreliable by many. But too many of the statements tell the same story that Hitler was a sadomasochist for them all to have been manufactured. The actress recounted how, after they undressed, he liked her to kick him. Wagner’s daughter-in-law confided (according to her daughter) that Hitler enjoyed being whipped.
"Why we decided it was better to think of Hitler as asexual, I don’t know. But we did, in error.
"Hitler is regarded today as a fanatic due to the fact that he was one. But the idea that the Germans elected him because he was a fanatic is wrong. Often Hitler concealed his fanaticism, leading most Germans to think of him as a moderate..."
Aside from the one-sidedness of this (do Christian boys EVER vow, before their church leaders, to abstain until marriage or death, whichever comes first?) and the tackiness of washing dirty - or clean - linen in public, what gets me is the speech girls are supposed to recite between the 14- and 15-minute marks.
I mean, "a lifetime of purity" "until the day I..." ?! Isn't that kind of contradictory? Or is this just a way of saying that sex is a pollutant for girls, even AFTER marriage? Sure sounds like it. How often do men get praised for being "pure"? Especially if they're pushing 30 and aren't married, because they're not financially ready to marry, for many good reasons? (Personally, I believe that most fathers just want their daughters to leave home and stay financially independent forever after, which is not so likely if one marries before age 21 - or even before 25. Even a perfect spouse can get hit by a car and become a quadriplegic, after all.)
Here's another version of that vow:
"I make a commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future mate, and my future children to a lifetime of purity including sexual abstinence from this day until the day I enter a Biblical marriage relationship."
(BTW, in the shorter video I saw, the girl, Hannah Powers, said that while she's still a virgin, she doesn't believe everything now that she did back when she took the vow - before she met her current boyfriend. No details.)
GROSS: You know, the impression I get from your book is, when you're young and in the sexual purity movement, you were kind of trying to experience shame if you kiss, even. You know, like, kissing is going too far. At least, that's the way you describe it. And that you're preached to be pure, to not engage in sex, but when you find your partner and marry, then you should start having sex. And as one of the pastors said, men like a woman to be a lamb during the day and a tiger at night. So you're expected suddenly to be able to like, you know, have sex and please your husband, and it's this kind of, like, flipflop of what your brain is expecting from the very idea of sexuality. It seems like coping with that might be complicated?
KLEIN: Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. You know, the rules, first of all, of purity culture were always really unclear because your purity or lack thereof was defined by the community. So some members of the community would say, you know, yes, you couldn't even have an emotional intimacy with someone of the opposite sex without risking your purity before marriage, whereas others, you know, seemed to feel that, you know, as long as you didn't have sex before marriage, you were still fine. You were still safe. So you were in this pre-stage of non-sexuality. You were constantly wondering what it was that was going to lose you your purity, right? So that's hence, I think, some of the anxiety that people were living with. You know, you're constantly awaiting the assessment of the community.
But one thing that you know is that if A then B, is what we were taught. If you are pure, non-sexual to whatever extent is the requirement before marriage then you will have a perfect, blissful, highly sexual life after marriage. You will please your husband. He will never leave you. He will never cheat on you because you will be such a sexual delight for him. And it's fascinating because, you know, this teaching doesn't really work. You know, the reality that I've learned, from my interviews in particular, is that if A then A. (Laughter). You know? If you learn to shut down your sexuality, if you learn to train your body to experience shame, to protect you from the consequences of your sexuality in your community then A. After you get married, you often still struggle with turning your sexuality on.
But, you know, when people come to pastors oftentimes with problems in their marriage and say, you know, we're having sexual issues even, you know, having sexual shame, oftentimes, you know, the pastors will bring them back to that same old nonsensical equation, if A, then B. So they'll say, well, you're struggling in your marriage with being hypersexual. So, you know, what happened before you got married? Did you masturbate? Did you go a little further than you think you should have together? What happened with your parents? You know, what happened before this moment that you did wrong or that was done wrong to you? How are you broken that made this A-then-B equation not work in your life?
GROSS: Let's take a short break here, and then we'll talk some more. If you're just joining us, my guest is Linda Kay Klein. She's the author of the new book "Pure" about the purity and abstinence movements in evangelical Christianity...

Lenona, Hitler was not elected Chancellor by the German people.
In a Parliamentary system, voters don't vote for a Prime Minister. The head of the party with the most votes puts their party chairman in the PM slot. If no single party has enough votes to do that, parties combine in a coalition government with the agreed-on party head (usually the one with the most seats) taking the PM slot.
Germany never elected Hitler as Chancellor (PM in the Weimar system). Paul Von Hindenburg (hero of World War I) was president of Weimar Germany (the republic that succeeded the Kaiser). The office of president is similar to the Queen in the British parliamentary system and the president of France in their parliamentary system.
Hitler ran against the aging Hindenburg in April 1932, but did not get enough votes to succeed him. Hindenburg, now 85, won another 7-year term with 53% of the vote over Hitler's 36% in the run-off election. Hitler then formulated plan to become Chancellor and take the presidency once Hindenburg died.
Germany was in dire economic straits - unemployment was running high, inflation was still high, etc. Both the Communists and the NSDAP - National Socialist German Workers Party ("Nazis" was a derogatory term bestowed upon them by the Social Democrats, derided as "Sozis" by the National Socialists) - were making strong gains with the electorate, a fact that alarmed to Old Guard conservatives.
Like their main opponents, the Social Democrats, the Nazis ran on a program of generous social benefits - minimum wage, old-age pensions, etc. - in the July 1932 parliamentary election, getting 37% of the seats in the new Reichstag, making them the majority party. However, they didn't have enough votes to put Hitler in the Chancellor's chair.
Since the National Socialists were an anti-communist, they found themselves aligned with the conservative wing of the Reichstag in attempting to form a coalition government.
Hitler demanded the Chancellorship since he had the biggest bloc of votes, but Hindenburg despised him and appointed Franz von Papen instead. Von Papen could not control the Reichstag, dominated by the National Socialists, and was replaced by Kurt von Schleicher, also ineffective in the face of Nazi intransigence.
So, the Reichstag was dissolved - again - and another election held in November 1932. The National Socialists won the majority again, but a slimmer one than in the earlier election. Hitler was getting desperate, his bid to become Chancellor of Germany slipping away.
Luckily for him, von Papen was an idiot. Franz hatched a plan to make Hitler Chancellor and himself vice-chancellor in a bid to put a stable government in place. Hindenburg, despite his reservations about Hitler, agreed and in January 1933, Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany. Only 3 government offices were given to the Nazis in this coalition, but they were enough. Goering was appointed Minister of the Interior, which put him in charge of the Bavarian police forces. He began arresting Communists - with the full support of the NSDAP's coalition partners.
Another election was forced by the NSDAP in March 1933, putting them in stronger control of the Reichstag since the Communist and Social Democrat candidates had been arrested as traitors to Germany. The new Reichstag gave Hitler sweeping powers in The Enabling Act, an amendment to the Weimar Constitution passed in response to a mysterious fire in the Reichstag that was publicly blamed on the Communists.
Hitler further consolidated power using intimidation and violence against Communists and Social Democrats. Ernst Rohm, the last high-ranking true believer in the promised National Socialism was arrested and murdered in July 1934, the Night of the Long Knives - a move Hitler felt he had to make to keep his conservative coalition partners in line. He'd by then abandoned all pretense of believing in National Socialism in a desperate effort to stay in power.
Rohm was agitating for the promised "second National Socialist revolution" the one which would over throw the capitalists and establish socialism in Germany. Hitler was afraid his coalition partners, all capitalists, would replace him with a new Chancellor before the now-bedridden Hindenburg died.
Von Papen left the government after the Night of the Long Knives, having seen several of his confidants murdered as the National Socialists cleaned house. He later became Nazi Germany's ambassador to Austria.
In August 1934, Hindenburg finally died. The office of president was left empty, giving Hitler effective control over Germany with no resistance and no legal hurdles to clear.

Key differences between Donald Trump and Adolph Hitler
One key difference is Hitler was lionized by Americans liberals for damn near a decade, and for quite a while even after he started killing people
