Fire up the popcorn maker, it's gonna be a doozy. Also, can we call Ms. Argento a rapist?

From Arlie Russell Hochschild, reviews of three books on men (if you don't know, she wrote a bestseller, "Strangers in Their Own Land," just before the 2016 election):
The Boy Crisis: Why Our Boys Are Struggling and What We Can Do About It
by Warren Farrell and John Gray
Healing from Hate: How Young Men Get Into—and Out of—Violent Extremism
by Michael Kimmel
White American Youth: My Descent into America’s Most Violent Hate Movement—and How I Got Out
by Christian Picciolini
And I searched on "A Voice for Men" plus Roe and Wade and found this:
"AVfM takes no actual moral stand on abortion, save recognizing the fact that the repeal of Roe v Wade would result only in a massive spike in entitlements for women, dysfunctional children and a commensurate increase in court enforced slavery for men."
(But elsewhere, AVfM founder Paul Elam doesn't seem to care if Kavanaugh makes it. Kind of odd.)

It isn't that odd Lenona. All of these are mixed subjects and there are a lot of reasonable approaches to them.
For example, I'm for the repeal of Roe v Wade purely because it is a terrible ruling. There is zero legal basis for it. I think it is a bad idea to base a judicial decision on 'because I like it'. And for all I'm for overturning Wade I'm also opposed to outlawing abortion. The two preferences are not in opposition. In the same way I am opposed to abortion in general but approving in specifics. You can have it both ways and not be a hypocrite.
As for Kavanaugh, I am disgusted by the tactics used by the Democrats. And I want him approved just as a rebuke for those tactics. But the man himself makes me nervous. He is very intellectual in a sense. I worry as he moves from the one level to the next he will get caught up in details and miss the forest for the trees. So like Elam I am somewhat ambivalent about his actual confirmation. As for the him repealing Roe stuff, that was all advertising. It's fluff and nothings. Maybe he will and maybe he wont. But the likelihood is vanishingly small. That was never a significant part of this process.

Criminal defense attorney agrees with me re Whelan -
"I told you the Ed Whelan scenario had legs. As a criminal defense attorney that is the one I'd have gone with. Ya'll thought I was crazy. I mean, it's crazy. But it worked."
"This gives you the out. You don't have to attack someone who comes across as a sincere victim, but you slide this theory in there and BOOM you've got doubt."
I hate it when intruders hit me in the head with an axe while a ghost plants meth in my house and then they all climb out the window when the police arrive.

The Ford-Kavanaugh Hearing Will Be Remembered as a Grotesque Display of Patriarchal Resentment
Have you already decided how to mis-remember the nomination process?
So has the New Yorker.

I have Gog. Erotic interpretive dance!
Seems more fun than that resentment thing.

"interpretive dance!"
You should suggest that - I'm sure the New Yorker can scan their Jules Feiffer history for ideas!
