A while back the head of the USPS said "You mentioned making the service better for our customers; but the American citizens aren't our customers—about 400 junk mailers are our customers. Your service hurts our ability to serve those customers."
And I can't disagree with him on that. They pay the money so they are the customers. But that just raises another question for me. Why do we need a branch of the US federal government who's main purpose is to deliver advertisements to citizens? And typically unwanted advertisements at that.
I think the USPS is profitable, though I'll admit I haven't looked into it too hard. What are the issues with moving the USPS into the private sector? Or at least their junk mail business among other functions?

It seems that Neville Longbottom is a raging murderer. Wait, the incident in question occurred during the Battle of Hogwarts? Bad things can happen during battles, like getting chopped in half.
The alternative is admitting that the most recent Star Wars efforts weren't all that. I thought that The Force Awakens was pretty OK until I realized it was a rehash of Episode IV A New Hope.
Once the blinders were off, TLJ just didn't cut it. We find out that Luke Skywalker is his father's son when he attempts to murder his nephew Ben in his sleep. No wonder he grows into a conflicted Kylo Ren.
Of course, Kathleen Kennedy just got a nice shiny 3 year contract extension. Failing upward!

I'm inclined to blame Jar Jar Abrams for a multitude of the issues with both of the Stars - Wars AND Trek.
Seriously. The new Trek 'timeline' (good god, what a travesty) now has an interplanetary transporter? There goes the fleet.

That's the problem with tech "solving" your problems in scifi, why don't you always use it. Interplanetary transporters, while in warp transporters, and through shields. Scotty while we warp past the enemy fleet, transport some armed torpedoes to each ships bridge, and one to the Klingon throne room. War over by tea time.
Apparently the marketing rights to the original series and those to subsequent efforts are split among different business entities - so if JJ & Co create a 'new' timeline, their bankers don't have to share as much of the bobblehead profits with the original company.

The Peter Principle could explain Kathleen Kennedy's failure.
While she worked as Lucas' underling she did her job but at the helm of the company? It was like watching a trainwreck in slow motion and her biggest mistake is/was putting Ruin Johnson in charge of Ep 8.
With the Harry Potter films, there are the books and J.K. Rowling who made sure the movies won't do a 180º screwup by keeping the massive directorial egos in check.
Putting J.J. in charge of the three films would at least make him give the films consistent-ish plot and a semblance of character development.
But nooo, she let Ruin Johnson loose who went F*ck this character, f*ck that character, f*ck those characters too, f*ck this arch, f*ck this, f*ck that, f*ck everything and everyone but MY characters and MY plot arches.
And now the only reason for Ep IX to exist is going to be for money laundering.

To be honest, that's probably a better bet than your typical Gender Studies degree(s).
