Asshole Canceling Headphones!
That's what I call my beautiful noise-canceling Bose QC15 "can" headphones in "Good Manners for Nice People Who Sometimes Say F*ck."

I use them with Hearos Xtreme earplugs (cheap!) and iDream's free phone app that includes brown noise (less sharp than white or pink noise), and you could basically drop a missile in my living room and I might not wake up. (Luckily, I have a dog with a sharp little bark to alert me to any danger.)
