“Climate variability and change is a lot more complex than ‘CO2 as control knob’,” Curry said. “No one wants to hear this, or actually spend time understanding things,” Curry said.

When you think you're above the law. (Narrator: he wasn't)
Under federal law, peace officers who are armed while traveling are required to state that they are doing so for good reason — a reason related to their work — under penalty of perjury. The investigators believed that, as district attorney, Gascón was no longer an active peace officer and had no need to travel with a gun.
In the months after the TSA was notified, five of the Investigators Association’s seven-member governing body were either terminated or reprimanded. In all, according to the suit, “nearly half of the district attorney’s investigative department — or about 14 staff members — “were either terminated or forced to resign under intense pressure within a five-month span,” the suit said.
It appears he didn't fire prematurely. That suggests good concentration.

Looks like Nike isn't interested in sacrificing anything, especially if it impacts their bottom line.
The New York Knicks player had his Turkish passport revoked, and Erdogan issued a warrant for his arrest. Kanter’s father even had to disown him in a bid to safeguard their family.
Despite playing for a popular NBA team, the 26-year-old cannot find a sponsor. This is because, he says, sportswear companies are wary of damaging their commercial prospects in Turkey. And in an interview with Vice Sports last month, he singled out (you guessed it) Nike as one of those companies:

If you think that releasing energy and gases directly into your living environment is either a good thing or having no effect, you failed many science classes in school - assuming you had any. You can argue validly about the degree, but not the principle.
As a "giggle test", ask yourself how many pounds of heated exhaust gases you, yourself release - and how many BTU or calories result from burning that gallon of gasoline you had.

I thought the Dmes wanted gun free zones! Will they be subjected to the stringent background checks, examinations of social media, psychological examinations and the rest of the rigamarole they propose for the rest of us?
Oh, right, they'll exempt themselves.
According to the Washington Post Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) and fellow Democrats are looking at repealing a fifty-year-old rule that allows Congresscritters to keep guns in their offices and carry them on the Capitol grounds. Of course Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is backing the move as part of her bid to be elected Speaker again.

Yeah, good thing you stopped. Your assumption was obviously wrong.
That a Californian would argue that the motor vehicle has no effect is just plain amazing - or they've never been to LA or a similar location when the air was still.
They'd be gasping like a beached mullet.

Given DC's extremely restrictive gun laws, how are they to get the guns through DC to the Capitol?
