It's oppression chic -- believing that you are oppressed and life is terrible, while living at a time that offers more leisure, safety, and opportunity to women and everyone than at any other time in history.
This woman had to shove something about being "colonized" in the headline of what is basically a long, boring post about all the expensive beauty products she uses and the pricey yoga class she attends on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Read the post at your peril. Or rather, the peril of your brain cells. You might lose a few in the process.

May God have mercy on these sorts should the current social order ever fail.

One of the big challenges facing American society, is how to deal with the victim cult that has arisen as women have gained influence and authority in society.
I think it's fair to say that much of this behavior is a society-scale projection of the sort of interpersonal behaviors that women typically use to resolve conflicts. But what works among a small group of intimates become destructive when applied to society at large.

The quest for beauty is never-ending because the standards are impossible. Women compare themselves to magazine pics where the models are heavily made up, naturally the top 1% in looks, and then the photos are touched up. Women fall for this and buy piles of beauty stuff. They also tend to fall for romance novel and movie stuff that sets impossible demands for the men in their lives. They start to imagine that prince charming should sweep them off their feet and they should float away on clouds of happiness--leaving them bitterly disappointed that their guy farts and leaves clothes on the floor like a real person. In a study, men ranked girl's photos on a normal curve, with most girls ranked average (as statistics demands) but girls ranked 80% of guys below average. Unrealistic. But not colonialism, that is just stupid.
