I was assured that signs saying this was a gun free zone worked?
Charlie Landeros, aged old enough to know better, loved his far-left activism. He belonged to an armed Antifa group we’ve covered, training “oppressed peoples” in armed self-defense. And now he’s no longer with us after drawing down on two Eugene, Oregon police officers who attempted to arrest him at a Eugene middle school there.
However, if fuel can be made from frozen water at the Moon’s poles and then moved into low, medium or geosynchronous earth orbits, everything changes. Satellites can be refueled in space, requiring smaller rockets to place them into orbit. Routine travel to the Moon from a space station becomes practical. Missions to Mars become affordable. Most importantly, it may become economically viable to mine near-earth asteroids, potentially unlocking literally quintillions in resources, an economic bounty unmatched in human history.
Ashkin's new invention uses geometry to capture and funnel light. Essentially, it relies on reflective concentrator tubes that intensify solar reflections, which could make existing solar panels more efficient or perhaps even replace them altogether with something cheaper and simpler.
The tubes are "dirt cheap," Ashkin says – they cost just pennies to create – which is why he thinks they "will save the world."
With the National Socialist German Workers party then the largest in the Reichstag, Hitler had been chosen to head a coalition government in Weimar's parliamentary democracy. Fritz von Papen, a former Chancellor, assured the other conservative parties in the coalition that he could control Hitler, "Within two months we will have pushed Hitler so far in the corner that he'll squeak."
The Nazis were given only three of the eleven Cabinet positions in this coalition. The other positions went to the other German conservative parties. Papen had promised his allies that he would sideline Hitler and run the government himself.
By this time, Hitler had given up any pretense of adherence to the stated tenets of National Socialism and was pursuing power for power's sake. In 1934, he would execute the remaining true believers of his own party in what has come to be called, "The Night of the Long Knives" when they became liabilities to his then-tenuous hold on power.
You could wind up on a sex crime list for inquiring about the speed of light in vacuum.

IRA Dargh, Georgetown TX is incredibly welk to do and incredibly old. The population is heavily skewed to upper middle class retirees who prefer not to live along smelly expensive kids. Theyve got the money to spend on whatever suits their fancy. And they LOVE their Mayor. Its amusing to me as a Texan, that the staunchly conservative Republican town of Georgetown is more liberal in many of its actions than Austin is. "100% green" energy. Mandatory recycling for decades. The animal shelter has been no kill for decades (it's a fancy, 3 story one, too).
Schools are crap, though. That's not where the priority is. Families live in Round Rock. Financially well to do retirees own Georgetown. No need to weep for their electric bills.
Autism causes vaccines. Sorry, but it was too good not to share.

Wow, CD. That right there should show that correlation ≠ causation.
Semi-related.

On this day in 1933, Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany.
