And you're right about Quillette. I think about it the way thoughtful people used to regard the NYT or NYRB: You don't have to read every word, but if there's a BIG piece, you better have read it before you mouth off at parties where people sip Chardonnay and show (attractive) cleavage. I saw a Lehmann twin in the airport last week: About ten years younger, but same (hemispheric) accent, same stunning complexion and eye color, same personally competitive manner... She'd be delighted if she did.
