It's been far too long since the Patriots were in a Super Bowl. And even longer since they won one. /sarcasm

When it comes to GOAT debates, I usually favor Unitas or Montana, but Brady, at 41, makes a compelling case. Brady-led Patriots have been in six of the last twelve Super Bowls, winning two (perhaps three by the end of today's game). They've been in four of the last five, winning two (maybe three).

Not since the Steelers in the '70s and the 49ers in the '80s have we seen a team this dominant. However, those historic teams retained, for the most part, a core of great players. The only consistent points in the Patriots' long run of Super Bowl appearances since 2002 have been Brady and Belichek. The other players are just moving parts in a machine.

There is no Lynn Swann or John Stallworth counterpart in the Patriots' dynasty. No Franco Harris or Rocky Bleier. No Dwight Clark or Roger Craig.
