Beginner's Link
Also, if you start a new pursuit (mediating disputes, in my case, since August), it's great to openly identify as a beginner at it. This encourages you to be open to criticism -- and allows you to ask for critiques and tips. https://t.co/DpRwQEflX3

For folks of a particular generation —and I'm pretty sure that's the only generation that's hear, my dearies— this podcast begins with an especially powerful anecdote.

Here. The generation that's here.
But remember, to date, this is still the best podcast of 2019.

Hadn't thought if his for some time, but film critic David Edelstein is apparently still finding work several months after a #metoo-style scalping attempt.
He came to mind while listening to this chat with the bigger Weinstein brother, which is a pretty good listen.

Next week: Please stop tweeting about us! we can't keep up with the demand.
Next month: Y'all kept tweeting, we couldn't keep up with the demand, and now we're getting slaughtered at Yelp.
Two months from now: We're going out of business.

Regarding Amy's Tweet: I have always had the opinion that once you felt that you really knew what you were doing professionally, you had officially lost it.
If you know that there is always more that you don't know than what you do (and it bothers you), you are always on the quest to improve.
I feel the same way about political opinions.

And the EPI is at it again with manipulated data, false narratives, and pure nonsense.
Surely, you've seen the "Meanwhile, Average CEO Pay is up 937%" meme on Facebook or Twitter by now.
Almost every statistic cited in that meme is false and manipulated, misleading readers "...by deceptively comparing nominal vs. real prices, among other errors."
For instance, EPI again used the pay for CEOs of the 350 largest corporations in the US and called the results "average CEO pay," nowhere pointing out their figure counts less than 1% of the total number of CEOs in the US. They've done that before with their CEO-worker pay gap "study."
The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is a leftist think tank co-founded by Robert Reich and not the "nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank" that it claims to be.
If one wants to make a solid case that CEO pay is increasing far more rapidly than worker pay, that's fine. Just be honest about the numbers; which EPI is not.

Not until just now.
I think I'll need a new rule, to go along with my 72 hour rule on controversial breaking news, that any infographic that contains numbers is banking on my innumeracy to fact check their asses into next month. Especially if they do not include links to their data sources and methodologies.
