Truly disgusting and extremely worrisome.

Here's Adams' NYT op-ed, which speaks in favor of more ideological diversity on campus -- a call which is apparently seen as some kind of...heh...mental genocide...by these intersectionality-suckled students: https://t.co/shXOoZlL8h https://t.co/vS6UH9Nj6k

Time to expel those "students" and call it a day.

I'm trying to figure out which is worse: that your school is involved in the admissions scandal or that it is not; that no one wanted to attend your alma mater badly enough to bribe their way in.
So far, both my schools are clean.

Mpet, we're not done.. I want a Lori Loughlin perp walk.
> both my schools are clean.
I kinda think they're all dirty, certainly including my own.
When Murray wrote Bell Curve, he was savaged for what he had to say about intelligence and race. But in this C-Span interview, he said something I thought was even more provocative:
Not sitting on the happy end of the distribution myself, I've seen precisely how far-reaching and entrenched these pipelines have become. You'd not BELIEVE what they've done to my hometown… And for my family, as regard those who are on the high end. Tax codes, set-asides, grants & scholarships, legislation & policy, education unions... All of it churning relentlessly to assure the most capable people ——those who could gain the most from extra community effort and part-time jobs, etc—— need never let their feet touch the ground. Vast swaths of our economy are diverted to enrich those who don't need help, while those who'd ask only for a fair shake get screwed.
THAT's what Trump voters are protesting. He's a pathetic man, and those with sincere admiration are pathetically deceived, but one can't argue with the historic poignance of their gesture. As an expression of discontent, it's righteous.
I've been saying it here for years: Trump admirers are lonely in fundamental ways. Carney's now saying the same thing in more elegant (and statistically substantiated) terms on his book tour.
Meanwhile, to Hell with the schoolmarms. And their administrators. And their lackeys and shop stewards and on and on....

" Trump admirers are lonely in fundamental ways."
Not a logical exclusion of other reasons, especially if you mistake, and you have, some observations for admiration, such as:
• Billionaire probably has phone secure enough to pass State Department guidelines
• Billionaire has no need to sell office favors
• Billionaire has been in business for decades among peers of all kinds, still has billions
• Billionaire has international business connections, handles money and travels in circles I do not know about
• Billionaire, over decades, has probably dealt with major players in the majority of other countries
• Billionaire has taken advantage of wealth envy by selling own name: Trump Tower, Trump Plaza, Trump Princess (yacht). This is the same principle WalMart uses to sell housewares - presentation generates sales.
Each of these has pluses and minuses. Russians? I'd be seriously disappointed if a major business executive did NOT have a piece or handle on a major world power's economy. Yes, a bunch of that economy is corrupt. Like Wall Street, right?
"Lonely in fundamental ways?"
Aside from not being represented by R or D political machines dedicated to enriching themselves (tears here for the Sanders fairies),... how?
How about yourself? There's gotta be a salient feature driving the #1 commenter here...
I know you're not a Hillary admirer; how would you characterize those?

It's true Crid... metro Boston consists of townies and gownies... lots of the people sucked up from random places to attend school never go back, they settle in Boston and stay.
NicoleK at March 13, 2019 5:40 AM
In this scandal, they're both clean.
In other ways, they're probably not. Both are state schools with pretensions to athletic greatness, so their hands have to be dirty.
Both are situated in small towns where the sheer size of the university makes them dominant in the local economy and in local politics.
The Law School dean alone controls a budget greater than the town's mayor will ever see - and has more state power brokers on his Rolodex, too.

SIX bullet points with "Billionaire" in the singular, as an honorific? Could their be any clearer identification of the stars in your eyes? Is there any imaginable response that would better affirm the point?
Years on, I still can't fathom the forces by which your spirit has glommed so desperately to this daydream about his cell phone. ("Billionaire"!) It's just strange. Never seen anyone talk like that about any little thing. Not in the arts, the sciences, farming, medicine… You are *distinctly* bizarre with this. No political thinker of any kind, to my reading, has pursued this line of thinking whatsoever— 'As a billionaire, HIS cell phone must be SPECIAL... In an exotic case with rubies and emeralds and gold dust and two strands of cotton from Marla's 1992 G-String! And that means he should be our PRESIDENT!' Try this out, as a conclusive point of eye-to-eye conversation, with anyone in your life, a co-worker or friend of similar position and clarity. In a church, in a diner. Be certain to share your passion on the matter. And let us know how it goes.
More Bullets— News sources have indexed "Billionaire's" perfidy, and that of his dearest family & associates, in exquisite detail, whether competently pursued or not. You should have read about this. You haven't, because You Are a Man in Love.™
Next Bullet— Multiply-bankrupted "Billionaire's" worth a fraction of what he'd have had he invested in mutual funds and stayed home to watch his beloved teevee. This guy isn't a gifted businessman. You won't read the links about this because YAAMIL.
Next Bullet— If you don't know what darling circles "Billionaire" travels in, Y TF would you be impressed? Because YAAMIL.
Next Bullet— "Billionaire's" dealings with imaginary "major players" have nothing to do with skills in management nor governance, realms in which he's demonstrated no competence. He's entirely incurious about the globe, and certainly unlearned about "the majority of other countries." It's like I'm trying to convince you that Casper the Friendly Ghost isn't real, because YAAMIL.
Last Bullet— You, Raddibles, are the one feeling "wealth envy." To imagine that the rest of are as consumed by resentment is inane, but YAAMIL.
> how would you characterize those?
Characterize which? Be CLEAR, son. Your family's counting on you.
You shouldn't feel this way about any other human being, let alone Donald Fuckwit Trump.
And read the Carney book.
Crid at March 13, 2019 2:35 PM
Still your mistake.
And if you don't think HAVING billions is exceptional, well, take a look around. I'd guess you're bored with your phone because you started shrieking about the minor observation that a guy in that position would already have a secure phone. Maybe the Blancpain on your wrist makes it ache. Your retirement fund is struggling, or something.
But it remains that the ONLY WAY to discriminate between DJT and some other guy IS that money.
He insults you, personally and intimately, by still having that money and being so... crass. Isn't that it? How else would your most careful prose be squashed into hooting? How else would you even lose control of your formatting, about which you have been... protective?
Surely you're more deserving of a Scrooge McDuck Money Pile to luxuriate upon than that cur!
If he was a painter I'd be talking about his paint. Then you'd complain if I thought that a guy who painted for a living might have a brush the homeowner would appreciate.
Because you can't do what you want, not yet. Anything you've done is so minor by comparison "perfidy" doesn't get used.
Minor is also the term suitable for my level of concern here. Now - answer the question, please: how would you characterize Hillary supporters?
