Don't even recognize the name of the person being discussed, but this is a handsomely crude metaphor.

U.N. Official was saving the children, for himself.
Peter Newell, the United Nations’ top children’s rights official, has been jailed after pleading guilty to five charges relating to the rape and indecent assault of a child.
Newell, 77, whose charity received hundreds of thousands of dollars in UN funding every year, has been imprisoned for six years and eight months after being convicted at London’s Blackfriars crown court for molesting a boy who was 12 years old when the abuse began.
"21 Things Parents Used to Say That Would Shock Millennial Parents Today"
Number 6 was common, of course.
But while the sentiments behind many of the statements were certainly also common when I was young, I don't remember HEARING most of these spelled out to my face - or in my hearing. Number 20 was rephrased, more simply and kindly, as "never interrupt."
And here are some statements that I can probably say NO ONE in my family, immediate or extended (including my grandparents' generation), ever said:
"PUT SOME BEER IN HER BOTTLE — IT'LL HELP HER SLEEP."
"YOU CAN GO TO BED WITHOUT DINNER."
"WHO CARES IF SHE FAILS MATH? SHE'S JUST GONNA BE A MOM."
Not that I really understand what's so terrible about sending kids to bed without supper - especially as opposed to spanking - if the kid did something really bad on purpose. (Of course, if the kid keeps doing really bad things, it's time to rethink the problem.)

"30 Things American Parents Do That Would Shock the Rest of the World"
Some of the more interesting ones, with comments from the writer:
"LET THEIR KIDS TALK BACK"
"TAKE THEIR KID'S SIDE" (and not the teacher's side, when the teacher complains)
"COO OVER BABIES"
"TRICK-OR-TREAT FOR SWEETS" (hint: kids in other countries are expected to do more work on Halloween to get the candy)
"HAVE BABY SHOWERS"
"HOST OVER-THE-TOP PARTIES" (I know about that, but that didn't USED to be the tradition in the U.S. - right?)
"SPANK THEIR KIDS"
"GO OUT TO EAT"
"MAKE THEIR KIDS MOVE OUT AT 18" (somehow, I thought that one had died out unless the kid WANTS to move out)
"RELY ON BABYSITTERS" (leaving aside whether or not one has relatives living in the house or nearby, I seem to remember that a century ago or so in the U.S., female teen neighbors were expected to do that for free! Well, maybe not very often - who knows?)
"DON'T ASK FOR HELP AROUND THE HOUSE"
"MAKE MULTIPLE MEALS" (as in, at the same time of day, for fussy kids)
It seems they've finally decided to pull the movies, at least. But, from one story: "Amazon won't sell porn, but will sell anti-vaxxer books."
And, from Vox: "Pinterest, Facebook, and YouTube are cracking down on fake vaccine news. But it’s not clear how much influence social media has over parents refusing vaccines for their kids."

Meme magic at work:
Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., tells Cuck Todd that lawmakers have found “enormous evidence” of possible collusion between President Trump’s orbit and Russians during that election
And just in case the tweet gets deleted, it's been archived to posterity
'MOMS,' right?
