I heard he never even bothered to learn to speak English.
Probably not, it wasn't the language of the court. Being that he was William's great-grandson. William being a mix French and Dane.
Sometimes, the Dane just stayed.

Question asked. Probably won't like the answer.
I understand the problems in incarcerating large numbers of people. I understand the politics and how easy it is to make a social issue out of this if we hold them. But what I don't understand is why the laws apply to citizens but non-citizens especially illegal aliens don't have to face consequences of breaking our laws. I don't understand why it is I have to fill out an I-9 to get a job and only certain state or federal ID is satisfactory and illegals have zero requirements in fact the government goes out of their way to make it easier for them. I don't understand why the TSA can make me take my clothes off and feel me and my family up at the airport but 100,000 non-citizens from god knows where can cross our border freely, get a hot meal, an airplane ride to U.S. cities and a briefing on how to apply for welfare and housing. WTF is wrong with my government???

Why would he? The valuable parts of his kingdom were in what is today France - he inherited his mother's Aquitaine. In addition, he ruled Brittany, Anjou, Nantes, Poitiers, Maine, Gascony, and Cyprus. France was then little more than Paris and some surrounding land.
Richard spoke French and Occitan, but not Anglo-Saxon. Britain was, then, a backwater of Europe, considered barely civilized. Even Henry, Richard's father, left his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine to govern it in his stead.
From what I've read, Richard was a decent military tactician, but kind of a jerk personally. He was opinionated and hard to get along with.
The Plantagenets were a rowdy lot. Watch The Lion in Winter for an interesting, though fictional, depiction of Richard's dysfunctional family life.
His mother and father were all but divorced in an age when divorce was not allowed by the Church. So, his father simply carried on with other women, siring numerous illegitimate children, potential contenders for Richard's throne.
His mother, Eleanor of Aquitaine, supported her sons' attempt to overthrow their father in the Great Revolt of 1173, for which she was imprisoned by her husband. Richard later, successfully overthrew his father, aided by his half brother, Philip of France.
Richard's father was also sexually involved with Alys, the woman who had been betrothed to Richard since age 8.
His father's frequent quarrels with the Church led to the murder of Thomas Becket. "Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?"
Richard's determined leadership in the Third Crusade was essential to creating a functional army out of a rabble, but it made him several enemies. He is often accused of failing in that Crusade since he did not take Jerusalem. However, that was a wise decision on Richard's part. He had an army of sufficient size to take Jerusalem, but too many of the soldiers were soon to have fulfilled their commitments and were ready to go home. That meant he would not then have left the Crusader kings an army that could have held Jerusalem.

CNN did not discuss the revenue hit Philadelphia took, but Hotair did: “The tax on soda increased by 17%, but the sales fell by 51%. So, let’s look at this assuming one million ounces of soda was sold annually before the tax went into effect. If sales had remained the same, the city would have realized $62,400.00 in revenue instead of $54,300.00. But with the volume cut in half, they managed to slash their revenue to $31,200.00.”
"Hilariously I get tagged in moo-day posts because I was raised by mormons (ew gag, I escaped as soon as I could!), and one year I was tagged by an old 'friend'.
"I untagged myself and made my own post not mentioning him or his post at all. 'Can't believe I had to untag myself from a mother's day post!' That was it, nothing more.
"Old 'friend' saw it and threw a giant tantrum! 'Better to cover all women than risk missing a real mother! Don't worry, you won't have to risk anything that horrible from me again! Unfriending now!'
"Now I happen to know that mothers in general don't appreciate non-mothers being included in mother's day praise posts, so this was fucking hilarious to me. Ooooh big mormon priesthood maaayaaan really put me in my place! How dare I speak up."

This article is either such an infuriating read or the best piece of fiction I have seen in a long long time.
One morning during first period, a male friend of Sam’s mentioned a meme whose suggestive name was an inside joke between the two of them. Sam laughed. A girl at the table overheard their private conversation, misconstrued it as a sexual reference, and reported it as sexual harassment. Sam’s guidance counselor pulled him out of his next class and accused him of “breaking the law.” Before long, he was in the office of a male administrator who informed him that the exchange was “illegal,” hinted that the police were coming, and delivered him into the custody of the school’s resource officer. At the administrator’s instruction, that man ushered Sam into an empty room, handed him a blank sheet of paper, and instructed him to write a “statement of guilt.”
