Interesting take. My first thought was "does this really matter". Then I remembered that Andrew Gillum lost enough black charter school moms to lose an election. Pair that with her "get a conviction, even if you have to make up shit" approach to being an AG, and she could have problems winning over the black vote.

She would have to choose. She could walk back her insistence that the federal government must intervene to enforce school integration. Or she could explain how she’s going to implement country wide integration by taking away all choice from America’s parents.

This is the biggest reason why Kamala should never be president, and to be fair, not a Senator either.

What prosecuting attorney Robert Murray did was produce a translated transcript of the defendant's interrogation to which he had added a fraudulent confession. The defense attorney got a copy of the audio tape of the interrogation, but it "ended abruptly." Eventually, Murray admitted to falsifying the transcript, presumably in the hopes of either coercing a plea deal, or ensuring a victory at trial.

When the trial judge found out, charges against the defendant were dismissed. Incredibly, the State of California, via Attorney General Kamala Harris, decided to appeal the case. The state's key argument: That putting a fake confession in the transcript wasn't "outrageous" because it didn't involve physical brutality, like chaining someone to a radiator and beating him with a hose.

Well, no. It just involved an officer of the court knowingly producing a fraudulent document in order to secure an illicit advantage.

I don't have any use for Kamala Harris and I don't think any of them could defeat Trump.

That said, I'm actually defending her on Twitter from Birtherism 2.0.

During Obama's presidency, the birthers, recognizing that "Obama wasn't born in the U.S." wasn't gaining any traction, particularly since he had already released two birth certificates, they revised their strategy. Not only did they drag out a parade of pseudo-experts to pronounce Obama's birth certificates computer-generated forgeries, but they came up with a new definition of "natural born citizen." The definition of natural born, they averred, did not come from English common law, contrary to the claims of the Supreme Court in decisions like Minor v. Happersett and United States v. Wong Kim Ark, but from the writings of German-Swiss philosopher Emerrich de Vattel. And based on a laughably ignorant interpretation of an English translation, a natural born citizen required two citizen parents, a standard that has never existed in the U.S.

So, while I fully sympathize with those who don't like Harris, I'm not going to pretend that she's not natural born. She was born in Oakland. And unless her parents were foreign diplomats serving in an official capacity or part of a hostile invasion force, she's natural born.
