Freedom of the press to be free from the press? ~ I R A Darth Aggie at August 14, 2019 8:34 AM
CNN has gotten way too full of prima donna anchors and reporters who think they're the story and who shout "freedom of the press" when they're criticized for their personal behavior.

Don't watch teevee news.
That's not a clever metaphor or anything: Don't watch teevee news.
Best not to watch teevee at all… But don't watch teevee news.
Teevee news has really fucked this country up. YOU ARE NO SPECIAL. DON'T BE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Next time teevee news comes on, DO SOMETHING ELSE.
Fry and egg. Kiss your wife. Do some yardwork. Give a fried egg to your wife and ask her for help with the yardwork. Read a book, clean out your tackle box, go through your old high school yearbook.
If you watch teevee news, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

The only teevee news I watch is local - for the sports and weather - and the national broadcast that follows it, mostly from inertia. When I want to know what's going on with a story, I google it and try to get a variety of viewpoints on it.

It doesn't matter which channel you admire. It doesn't matter how fuckable the anchor is. It doesn't matter what their editorial intentions are.
Good luck with that re-election, Chiquita Khruschev. I'm actually surprised that Tlaib and Omar are also doing so poorly.
Only 10 people who live within Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional district have been recorded making donations to her reelection campaign in 2019, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis of available Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.
...
Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan also rank among the lowest-performing freshman representatives in terms of reported financial support from people who live within their districts.
I haven't looked at the original Facebook debate yet, but many people seem to be saying that anyone who seriously makes THAT claim is likely jealous of CF people.

The issue isn't even children, really, but the perception of so many that adulthood is a time in which we must systematically rid ourselves of everything we love - all on the pretext of appearing mature. How many times, in media, have you seen men who like comic books or video games castigated as "virgins" who live in their "Mother's basement"? Or women who are single and childless being sneered at for, say, being affectionate towards a pet? Being called "crazy cat ladies" or some other such thing? You aren't supposed to be happy, that's apparently the moral we're meant to take away from these peoples ravings. And really, if that's what they're telling people, I pity them.

I agree, there is as ever a 'One size fits all' opinion that is stamped upon in everyone in society. At any one time I would think that barely half the population fits into the perfect hole for the shaped peg they are.
The woman in the article probably got pregerrs by accident (stupidity) and just resents others her age who did not. Just like the 'married' couples my other half and I used to know who castigated us for not being married ourselves, just because, 'its the right thing to do', often a few years after they were 'married' and were getting bored of the routine of it, but then all of them are now long since divorced and some for the second time. People like to see everyone else in the same shit they they are in themselves.
