And like all death cultists, they handed out leaflets that contained within them ‘THE TRUTH’. The leaflets foretell floods and fire: ‘We are in trouble. Sea levels are rising… Africa and the Amazon are on fire.’ The only word that was missing was locusts. They can’t be far behind these other ghastly visitations to sinful mankind.
Rubin describes himself as a "comedian," bu I have no recollection of him before his friendships with Jordan & the Weinsteins. Does anyone else?

Regarding actual catastrophic events (spotted in this morning's Instapundit), the wreck of the mighty Japanese carrier Akagi has been found. The Akagi was fatally damaged on 4 June 1942 during the Battle of Midway. She was scuttled by Japanese destroyers early the next morning.

Maybe the NeoCons will be with us always?
Do high-level military officials really believe that Americans join the armed forces to try to liberate “the millions of people under the boot of tyranny or left abandoned by their failing states?” Or that the U.S. military is capable of doing this? Has nobody noticed the hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of lives lost trying to fix just Afghanistan, without any significant payoff? Exactly what does the McRaven think the U.S. military can do for the Rohingyas or the South Sudanese?
Looks like a flaming couch tossed into a dumpster fire, that was then tossed into an active volcano.
It now appears our assessment was accurate, because moments ago CNBC's David Faber, and Dow Jones moments later, confirmed that WeWork appears to have snubbed a debt deal being arranged by JPM (arguably due to its exorbitant interest rate demands, which last week was rumored to be between 8% and 15%), and was instead set to hand over control to Japan's venture capital debacle, SoftBank, which is set to spend $4-5 billion on new WeWork equity, in a deal which values WeWork around $8 billion (we suppose this is pre-money valuation), and which together with WeWork's existing ownership to the tune of $10BN invested by way of its Vision Fund, would grant SoftBank full control over the flaming fiasco that is WeWork, whose valuation has crashed from $47BN a few months ago to less than $8BN.

Legal pot growers having problems. Not enough demand to meet production. Hopefully you sold your pot stock at profit.
As I’ll explain, companies like Aurora Cannabis (ACB) are “dumping” part of their harvest… because they simply grew more pot than they could sell at a reasonable price.
I disagree with a buncha stuff you post on occasion, but do not miss two things:
1) Most of the time, I think you're right (this is not usually an occasion to comment)
2) I consider you trustworthy. You've said enough about yourself in the course of argument to say this.
PS: Andrew M. Garland is still champion of the content/syllable, signal/noise comparison, and Artemis/Orion is still dead last by a considerable margin.
