The child is filled with righteous indignation because an older person approached her today and told her young people should get off their phones and read a book while she was actually reading a book on her phone.

From my personal unhappy experience, nothing quite as constipating as a diet of white rice.

I've heard some horror stories about long-term consumption of MRE's.

Instead of saying "speaking truth to power" it should be "burying truth on behalf of power". Or perhaps "democracy dies in a shallow grave"?

If I recall correctly, David Prowse (the man in the suit) also says that Empire Strikes Back also has not turned a "profit", either.

I would simply remove the device and attach it to the chief of a suitable local constabulary's car instead. That would be returning their property, yes?

mpetrie, re that "crazy people" article (excerpt):
...MA female plane passenger took to Reddit this week to share a horrifying photo of a stranger performing a rude act during her flight.
The woman, who goes by WoodySoprano on the social media platform, posted an image of a traveler resting their bare feet on her headrest. Though the Reddit user’s face is cropped, her terrified eyes tell all.
“Going to be a long flight,” she captioned the photo.
I mean, the other, unrelated CRIMINAL incidents in the article were horrific and truly terrifying, but what exactly was stopping HER from calling over a flight attendant and asking for help?
Btw, one commentator said that maybe the offender didn't really mean to be rude - he/she had swollen ankles and was possibly in pain. Not an excuse, of course, but it's still worth considering.

Oh, and about Julia Roberts as Harriet Tubman...
Yes, the suggestion sounds like a hoax. But not quite, given Hollywood's tendency to oppose the existence of anyone, real or fictional, who doesn't look like a fashion model.
Leaving aside race (yes, that was crazy), it's high time for Hollywood and other towns to admit that just as minorities exist and deserve to be represented in fictional roles (constantly), it's also high time for REAL-LIFE people to be represented by actors who look like them, including those cases of famous people who just weren't physically attractive. (Hint: Harriet Tubman didn't escape until age 27, and by then, she'd aged considerably by slaving as a field hand.) Take Queen Victoria - no, she did NOT look like Jenna Coleman! But even aside from her weight and 5-foot height, she wasn't pretty.
See here - she was about 34 at the time:

I can't seem to find photos of her in her younger years - just paintings. Not trustworthy.
And why couldn't the makers of "The Imitation Game" find a talented, not-so-famous woman who LOOKED a little more like Joan Clarke? Granted, Clarke was more attractive than Victoria, but Keira Knightley was already too well known for her beauty, if you see what I mean.
Most movies are not about real people anyway, so it's only fair for film biographies to cast actors who may not be that famous or glamorous but who LOOK right. As I think I mentioned before, it would only make sense to do that if "Bonnie and Clyde" were filmed today - they were just scumbags anyway, even if they weren't ugly to look at. (Or particularly attractive.) There's no reason to believe that modern audiences couldn't handle that. (And while I can't be bothered to watch "Victoria" - or any other time-consuming TV series - I can only hope the series makes it clear she wasn't a nice human being; ask the Chinese or the Irish!)
lenona at November 20, 2019 9:34 PM
Granted, portrait photography had barely started in the 1840s (Victoria was born in 1819), and those photos that were taken likely haven't survived well. So finding photos of Victoria from her 20s WOULD be difficult...

There's always the possibility that the other passenger would turn out to be an entitled shit who would then pitch a fit, throw pillows around or take a dump on the beverage cart.

Could very well be. Oh well, if you want to avoid somebody's smelly feet hovering over your neatly done hair, just don't fly. You'll be free from TSA genital feels, too.
