What in seven hells is that. Why is it made of depressed Lego. Why does it look like it had a bad childhood. Why does it have the logo of a local black metal band who hand out gig fliers in front of a Walmart. It looks like if sadness had a clutch. https://t.co/fpCm2Hx8f9

The original Honda Ridgeline flamed out with its trendy design. Trucks are not a market for cutting-edge exterior design. People want a truck to look like it works for a living, even when it doesn't.
Car design will change, eventually. We no long need the big round headlights as LEDs have reduced headlight size. We no longer need a grill on most cars as modern engines get enough air from what flows underneath the vehicle. I wonder what cars will look like 100 years hence, once we've shed the convention of headlights and grills as necessary implements on the fronts of our vehicles.

It isn't a truck. Where is the truck bed?
Is this one of those government classification things? Like the SUV which is technically a light truck but no one but the government considers it a truck.
Ben at November 22, 2019 5:05 AM
Where is the truck bed?
It's in the back, were you expect it to be. It's just got a lid on it. I expect that, in the next 20 years or so, when Hollywood remakes Back to the Future instead of a DeLorean, it'll be this truck.

Who's going to force the U.S. to subjugate itself to this world government?

First, "Cyber" is no longer a new and playful notion. It's what you'd hear from people who had their best sex in the 1980's and still make jokes about crack.
Second, the harsh angles call to mind the F-117. No one ever actually admired the look of that plane. It was the product of the earliest iterations of the microcomputer revolution (8087, anyone?)... When coarse angularity was the only computationally accessible design for stealth geometry. (The curvier B-2 and F-22 came from machines with a little more numeric candlepower.)
So maybe this is how Elon slides into sentimental middle age.

The Honda Ridgeline just never caught on with truck aficionados and was roundly ridiculed. Honda’s newest Ridgeline adhered to traditional truck design and has so far been better received, although truck folks still mock Honda’s lack of a truck heritage.

Can the Tesla truck tow a boat, or a camper, or a trailer with a riding mower? Can it haul a pallet of stone? Can it go off-road? If so, then that's pretty cool, since it's hard to find a vehicle with real utility capabilities that gets better than 15mpg. But if it's just Model X with more cargo room...Who cares?
ahw at November 22, 2019 9:43 AM
A little more research turned up this: the original Ridgeline was unibody, like a car and not body-on-frame like most trucks.

I have to lay in bed and cover my face with a pillow so I can listen to the podcast because I couldn't stop staring at their crotches.
I get Eric's visual format, it's more relaxed without the need of weed like Rogan's, and it's also less confrontational than a desk or a table.
But oh, my God, the moment their fingers twitch, my eyes tune in onto them and I can't stop staring at their bulges behind the hands.
And Eric has very expressive hands, the problem is that when one of the two dances in the air, the other one covers his crotch and its fingers twitch, and, well, it's sending the wrong message.
Plus, I'm squinting really hard trying to see if I can see Peter Thiel's bellybutton, I so want to press my lips on that round, manscaped tummy and blow raspberries.
Oh, and the podcast is on point. We're screwed, deep into a mine, choking on the carbon monoxide, but the people in charge of keeping an eye on the canary are too busy having fun throwing stones at the cage to notice.
