Watch the series again some time IRA. Katniss is a classic male stereotype. Peeta is a classic female stereotype. She is a hunter, he is a baker. She sets off the revolution, he supports her (albeit clumsily) (also a female stereotype). They got really obvious about it with the final scene. Katniss provides for her familiy, Peeta stays home and raises the kids.

It is the classic Hollywood gender reversal. They just did a decent job of it for once. It isn't as ham fisted as girl Thor or girl Ghostbusters.

I will agree with you on Hermione. I haven't seen the latest Charlie's Angels that flopped but plenty of people liked the earlier ones. Good female roles can and have been done.
