Sometimes, you get the government you deserve. The question, now that this gross incompetence and greed has been revealed, will they be replaced by more competent people, or just more of the same?

It's Puerto Rico IRA. This batch of family members will be replaced with their cousins.
What did you think would happen?

Watching Journalists salivate over doxxing all those pro-Second Amendment men marching in Virginia.
I'm thinking many of them will be able to afford to not be vegan for a couple of months thanks to the hate-clicks revenue generated from their hit pieces.

1970: Congress overrides Nixon's veto of the Clean Water Act.
Puerto Rico is pretty irredeemably corrupt. Most everything in government is filled with nepotism. Their electrical grid has been failing for several decades because pretty much everyone employed is a cousin of someone else in government and isn't trained to work on any of the equipment. That goes from linemen to power plant operators. Same with the water supply and sanitation, though those are less technical so there are fewer problems. Oddly enough embezzlement isn't that bad. The issue is mainly rank incompetence. Why were those supplies left in that warehouse? If this was Louisiana I would expect someone was selling them on the black market. Puerto Rico, nah, they just forgot they put them there. Most everyone who is skilled leaves the island for the mainland. Some complain about the brain drain effect, but from what I've heard those people never would have gotten a job anyways. So the drain effect is probably moot.
