The election of Bernie as president would/will degrade my appraisal of the American man on the street even further… Which might not have seemed possible on 11/09/16.
I mean, the pearl-clutchers who presumed Trump was going to bring down the long night of fascism were never that attentive to the vectors and boundaries of Executive power, either.
In other news—— Two years later, I'm still grateful to Darth, Coney and Cousin for explaining what this was all about.
(If the base runner at third had held his foot on the bag, it would have been a single forced out at first, right?)

(If the base runner at third had held his foot on the bag, it would have been a single forced out at first, right?)
Yes. I presume the batter who cannot advance to first because it's occupied. Ah, rule 7.03:
7.03 Two runners may not occupy a base, but if, while the ball is alive, two runners are touching a base, the following runner shall be out when tagged. The preceding runner is entitled to the base.
Looks like ball would have to be delivered to the first base to apply the tag.

This krewe.
As seen in a video shared online, there was an ” Epstein didn’t kill himself” float in New Orleans.
The float depicts an “Epstein” character in an orange jumpsuit, while a woman behind him resembling Hillary Clinton holds something around his neck.

@EricRWeinstein is bright guy who tartly asks: Which of our institutions have performed with notable integrity and efficiency in recent years or decades?
He's absolutely right about this. When was the last time you heard of a college president in his 30's? Used to be nearly commonplace.
Trump's the oldest president by a considerable margin. This morning's leading contenders, Bernie & Biden, are ancient. Warren's one year younger than Hillary.

How urgently?
The 3rd baseman, holding the ball, touches 3rd.
The base runner on third, if he's held his ground, remains safe on third.
Is the runner on second out?
What 'force' is applied at second if the two offensive players on first can stand on the bag, sipping tea until someone arrives to tag the new arrival?

Good question. Probably what should happen is that the shortstop moves over to third, second & first basemen remain on their bags, catcher is in position to make a play at the plate, third base moves over to the mound and then throw the ball to first, tags the runner and is ready to throw down to home.
I doubt anyone practices that.

Ah, I had forgotten about that play... When the force is on a runner, that runner can be put out by tagging the base he is trying to advance to. In this case, with the bases loaded, the force was on all the runners. However, once the third baseman stepped on the base while holding the ball, that put the runner coming from second out. Doing so *took the force off* of the runner at third. At that point, if he had been in contact with the base, then he would have been safe. (The third baseman kind of screwed this up... he should have tagged the runner first and then stepped on the base. However, it worked out the way he did it.)
The rule 7.03 doesn't apply to a runner who has the force on him. A runner who is forced cannot remain at the base he is at; if he does so, he can be put out, whether he is standing on the base or not.
