Theoretical scenario: Biden picks Klobuchar for Veep.
She's not one of the old-school party hacks we were talking about last week, but her husband is in the hospital (on oxygen) with Wuhan virus. Let's be blunt here: Presuming he's age 55-64, he's on line 4 of this table, with a ~2% chance of dying from the virus. He'll almost certainly survive.
But as this anno miseriae roars onward, she'll have an experience of contemporary hazard which other prospective candidates will not have. That's an affinity which could register deeply with terrified, aging voters in her own birthday cohort, who tend to show up at the polls… And who've lost a third to half of their investments in the last month.
Nonetheless she is, by the geriatric standard of contemporary national political contenders, still young and fresh and dewy. So that's two attractions for a doddering Captain Hairplugs to consider.
And she's a woman, which is a third.
I don't know if this is possible or not, I just want to write it into the Google cache (via Amy's hospitality) in case it happens, so I can seem brilliantly prescient.

Those may be the only two things Klobuchar can bring to the Biden campaign.
Biden's VP is likely to become the president as a drooling Biden is ridden out of town on the 25th Amendment. Klobuchar, in running for the job, did not generate enough interest to keep her in the race with a doddering serial plagiarizer on the brink of senility and a sputtering socialist gasbag.
Will she generate enough votes to carry Biden over Trump - who, despite all odds, is beginning to appear presidential, at least presidential enough to sway voters. Probably not.
Biden is missing in action, more worried about the lighting in his mansion than about becoming president - or busy swimming nude in front of female Secret Service agents. His handlers know absence is Biden's best strategy right now. And, come November, Trump's daily coronavirus briefings will likely outweigh Joe's absence.
Biden's VP pick has to be dynamic and generate excitement about the ticket. Klobuchar won't. Contrary to her debate night assertion, she is boring.

Millennials: We spend exorbitant amounts of money to fly to Miami to party during our Spring Break, and we don't give a good God damn about spreading a dangerous pandemic among a large elderly population.
Also Millennials: We deserve to have our student loans forgiven.

All true, all of it, every word.
I've no certainty she'd help him win with the larger electorate, though we're at the point when womanhood is a blessing much more than a burden on a ticket, and a great number of voters (Warren's Wymen specifically) would be panty-moistened to see Great-Grandad reach back and throw the Grammaw generation a little respect. (I know a few retire-age Lizzie Ladies, and sincerely regard their interior judgments as precisely that trite and mechanistic.) I was just speculating on whether he might, or might be encouraged by staff & Dem machinery, to pick her. He could do worse, and again, probably will.
You will recall no shiver of excitement rippling down your spine when JB himself was selected, as if At last we have some pepper in this salad!
Fauci didn't show at the presser yesterday, and I was thinking how, with his capable research (the article says he's the 13th most-cited scientist), his spotlessly proper administrative work since the AIDS crisis, and his quintessentially proficient & honest representation of the intersection of government and medical science, I'd vote for him to be president without discussion. (We have GAME SHOW HOST in the White House; let's not pretend that would be outlandish voter conduct on my part.) So, yeah, I looked him up on wiki, and he's 79 years old. I still think of him as a kid.
Ouch.

It's not going to be Klobuchar. I think if the DNC has it's way, it'll be Kamala.
If Clinton, Inc. has its way, it'll be Hillary. And in a year, we'll be talking about Quid Pro Joe as someone who also didn't hang himself.
Or 25th amendment...but if you're scheduled for suicide, there isn't much you can do to stop that.

Kind of surprised Tulsa G dropped out of the race last week. With the virus around and Biden and Bernies ages, and healths, she could have become the default person by just staying in. Wondering in if that’s why Biden has been so scarce.
Also heard a rumor to use Tylenol rather than Advil for fever release for this virus.

I've heard that, too. And I also heard that may not be right. *shrugs* Acetaminophen is not a NSAID, so that might be some of the reasoning. I doubt it would hurt to have some around.
Otherwise, I've switched from ibuprofen to naproxen for my general purpose OTC pain meds.

Patrick Says:
"Millennials: We spend exorbitant amounts of money to fly to Miami to party during our Spring Break, and we don't give a good God damn about spreading a dangerous pandemic among a large elderly population."
Spring break is traditionally for those of college age between 18 and 22.
Exactly how old do you think Millennials are?
They are the generation born between ~1982 and ~1996.
They range in age from ~24 to ~36. That isn't the typical spring break demographic.
It is time for people to update their "get off my lawn" vocabulary.

IDK. Tulsi did a pretty good job of exposing Kamala's vulnerabilities. Trump will drive a truck into those.
Harris may tick a lot of intersectional boxes, but she's done as a national candidate - at least until she gains some notoriety and acclaim as a senator - for something beyond bullying SCOTUS nominees.

Tulsi seems capable of trading verbal punches against Trump. But in truth she's not going anywhere.
Chances are that Hillary is gonna be VP because the DNC sees this as a wonderful opportunity to launder another billion dollars' worth campaign donations.

Biden stupidly promised his VP would be a woman. Now he can't even consider Cuomo, easily the most prominent Democrat at the moment, as a pick without inviting a backlash.
Another lesson of how gearing your campaign to woke Twitter is a mistake.

Darth, I saw that Dilbert strip, earlier today.
Yes, it's amusing. However, there's a tiny irony in it that Scott Adams didn't quite seem to realize.
Namely, it is, in fact, the man's PARENTS' fault if they're too wimpy to order him to leave home at 18! (He's older than that, I'm guessing.)
But Adams' implication - intentional or not - was that parents shouldn't be that harsh and old-fashioned.
After all, he COULD have had the man say: "I still live with roommates because..."
