I get that this is an oddity, and I don't fault the guy for taking a few seconds of video footage, but he's being kind of a dick. He's pursuing them, asking questions that are none of his business.
Yes, it's weird, but the lady isn't bothering him. That aside, I wonder how long the oxygen in that hamster ball will last. I didn't see any ventilation on it.

Yes, let's talk about masks! Thank you Amy. Ben wanted to ridicule a tweet about alternative materials to use in homemade masks, but that's going to be a BIG topic in the United States this week. Into the weekend, the CDC had told us to expect new guidelines for masks on Monday, but that's apparently been squelched, with some blaming the WH administration… But it no longer matters. Government bungled this, indisputably, as did manufacturers.
@jeremyphoward
The Czech Republic went from zero mask usage to 100% in 10 days, and in the process they halted the growth of new covid-19 cases. How? They made their own! They didn't need government help; they did it themselves. It's time for #masks4all. See why: youtu.be/BoDwXwZXsDI
@Pinboard
Buried lede in this hemming-and-hawing NYT article is that wearing masks is more effective than washing your hands ten times a day. (And yes, "Why not both?") The WHO and CDC fatwa against mask wearing in public is costing lives.
[W]ashing hands more than 10 times daily was 55 percent effective in stopping virus transmission, while wearing a mask was actually more effective — at about 68 percent. Wearing gloves offered about the same amount of protection as frequent hand-washing, and combining all measures — hand-washing, masks, gloves and a protective gown — increased the intervention effectiveness to 91 percent.
I didn't ridicule you when you asked about taping a coffee filter to your face Crid. I politely informed you it does next to nothing for a healthy person. Instead it is good for ill people to wear them. That is effective.
Sadly you were hysterical and became insulting. Then you went off about politics. You really need to get over this 'enemies list' thing you've got going.

The thing is, half the country will do the opposite just out of sheer spite. And this happens regardless of the political affiliation of whoever is the POTUS in charge.

No Crid. Only once you became insulting did I respond in kind. And since your response is ambiguous, no that is also factually correct. Most face masks do next to nothing for a healthy person. They will not significantly affect your likelihood of getting sick.
Double-pump comments might be happening because the internet intermediaries or the web page host is buffering read requests to save bandwidth. The whole system is being hammered by the quarantined, so if it's sent a page to you recently, it sends that same page again rather than update it with recent changes at the host site.
This is a video chat for medical personell given by a doctor at NY's Cornell-Weill hospital - basically a mask is effective because it reminds you not to touch your face. So even a funky coffee-filter contraption will do the job for non-medical situations.
There has been minimal airborne infection, it's almost all traceable to touching eyes, nose, mouth with contaminated hands.
Watch the whole thing - or at least the first 25 minutes until the questions:
I am still waiting to see pictures of Amy's snail and especially of Amy applying the cream she constantly advertises to its face.

The other costs of Xi's disease.
When the current madness is behind us, we will need to reflect on how easily governments, via orders that may or may not have any legal basis, have done away with our basic liberties, and on how few have objected.
Or you could read some of those paper you referenced. They say the exact same thing.
