As usual, six decades of family, friends and acquaintances appear to be spending their lives composing new demands for government, commerce and other-people-generally to pay for things and make expensive allowances for those with needs both casual and grand. Few were actually soliciting donations, and none were announcing continuing financial support of these impulsive expressions of topical concern.
