Sorry for the double-tap.
Here's a Caddy.
Also, there's an 8-track (not pictured).

"Here's a Caddy."
It didn't say anything about the engine, which, I imagine, is pretty powerful.
Meanwhile, here's the car I learned to drive in. What was yours?

At least no one's calling that one racism, yet. The shooter was known to be African-American. Unfortunately, out of 400 people, only one witness has come forward. With only one witness, this one's gonna be tough to solve - and that may lead to charges of police negligence.

Sailer's all over it. Apparently each door on that garage has a noose-like end to a rope at the door. Coulda been a misunderstanding(etc)… As a principle, he affirms that noose stories are most always not real.
The best evidence I've seen for believing its bogus came from my own heart: It was a spectacular expression of America's desire, the Deep South's especially, to put the horrors of our racist past behind us once and for all. The footage of the ceremony from the track literally brought tears in my eyes.
…And whenever someone makes me feel so pluciferously self-righteous, especially about a piece of video, I know it's a con… It was just too trite.
All those beautifully manly man out there… Flags waving… And Richard Petty! Still recognizable and adorable! If they'd told you that there was a way Richard Petty could look even *more* badass, and that it would be by wearing a (self-branded!) mask over his face, would you have believed it?
Not me, but it's true.
Wallace isn't Smollett, I am certain… Incoherence of Smollett's magnitude only comes around once in a generation.
But that doesn't mean the whole thing's real.

Rowling, Britain's wealthiest woman, persists. We note that departed authors are not named, nor are their positions on sales charts listed.
Eh?
Me?
Team Jake!*
*Disclosure: I have never actually consumed a J.K. Rowling product: No books, no movies. Every time I walk by a screen with one of the movies, it's a roaring nighttime tornado with flying metal candlestick holders and demons and, underpinning it all, a chorus of screaming children. This does not align with my cinematic preferences.
But her thoughts on trans people seem moderate and sensible.

Oh, it was well established prior to Juicy Jussie that most "hate crimes" that don't include actual violence are self-inflicted. And I had the same thought. Surely NASCAR has their garages under video security? I'm going with the odds on this one, and say it's some form of self-inflicted - either Bubba or one of his team.
BTW, has the mayor of Oakland given up on the "nooses in the park" hate crime? or is she going to prosecute the perp?
I R A Darth Aggie at June 23, 2020 10:27 AM
Sorry Darth. Sorry Old RPM.
My dad had one of those - bought it a few years after I left college. Drove it once. Godawful car. It would get you from Point A to Point B, but there was no having fun on the journey.

Sounds like she hasn't - despite a black man saying he put them up as exercise aids, months ago. Never let facts get in the way of the narrative.

Oh wait, three of the authors are named, and I missed that on the first read. I feel bad about scanning the piece too quickly and, to make amends, should investigate.
The Fishers are, as you might expect, married. It's at least possible that Blair Partnership, the agency in question, might feel gratitude to Rowling for getting these people out of the stable.
Crid at June 23, 2020 11:06 AM
There are people who have strong feelings about Bill Simmons, and I'll never be one of them, because I don't care enough about sports or any of his takes on sports.
Additionally, it would be more trouble than it's worth to investigate the context of the story.
But I'd kind of admire him for saying this, if he did.

"The shooter was known to be African-American."
How dare you assume his/her nationality!
That person could be Afro-Argentine!
It is vitally important to make these distinctions, so we can continue to talk about color while pretending, in our virtue, not to be!

This, 8:03PM last night and retweeted by Sailer, was the first I heard about it. I didn't think it would turn out to be the answer, because the loop of rope is so small and obviously purposeful... It seemed more likely that there was some other explanation.
Nascar may have been lucked out by not having had yesterday's moist little ceremonies conducted in front of a crowed of beer-drinking southerners.

More on ARM: Note unremarkable (high!) power consumption.
This will be processor/platform number four for the Macintosh. Every few years, Apple customers blithely shrug off their investment and rebuild their code base, because Steve or some Steve-like person tells them to... I'll never understand it.
Win 10 64bit will still run the word processor I was running in Reagan's first term.
(Probably better check in case someone calls bullshit... I already fucked up the thing with Rowling's agency today.)
A half-hour later— I tried it and it's true, but it took a long time to find it in the archive. But I had it in the same zip as the necessary adapter software.
Crid at June 23, 2020 6:59 PM
Sheez, look at the numbers on that machine.
When you compare that to the speed of the first IPM PC with its single-threaded Intel 8088 processor running at 4.77 Mhz, that is
um
real fuckin' fast.
7.3 million cores, and they rushed the project for Covid research.
Crid at June 23, 2020 7:08 PM
"Win 10 64bit will still run the word processor I was running in Reagan's first term."
And Quattro Pro, but you are possibly looking at the wrong the wrong metric. W10/O365/Word will NOT run the IDENTICAL file I did 10 years ago with OfficeXP, or 7 years ago with W7/Office2007/Word.
Hardware, you say? Not quite: Dell Precision 7820, two 8-core Xeon 4110's @ 2.1GHz, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA Quadro P4000.
Quite a bit better on paper than the previous 3.4GHz i3 in a $500 Lenovo with motherboard video; some of the IT folk here have no idea what I wanted. Still duzzen go.
Come to think of it, you're cheering W10 - for being useless? You could use that same word processor on W7 without problems.
IS THERE anything W10 offers that is better than W7?
Radwaste at June 24, 2020 10:57 AM
Not sure what you mean. There's a little bit of intermediary software, and PC-Write 2.55 cooks along nicely! It runs, and after nearly four decades, I'm still impressed with the speed of the F1-key interface for functionality. It was a great way to learn that personal computers were going to take usability seriously. (Or so it seemed.)
Win 10 because I sold my immortal soul to Bill Gates in that same year ('85). But also because only with the move to 64bit was the dosbox translation necessary. I never did big apps, except, back in the day, Photoshop, and only until Adobe became so obnoxious that it wasn't worth the trouble. I have (let's check) 14.8 GB (15,945,044,721 bytes) of portable software, which gets backed up with every boot, and can be copied to another machine without reconfiguration at the speed of a USB thumbdrive... Several browsers, audio and image editors, utilities (especially AutoHotKey), everything can move over in (essentially) minutes. And if an app goes squirrely, it can be restored from a backup in (literally) seconds. There was nothing about 7 I was ever going to miss.
Installation is for dweebies.
You're right: There are many things to hate about Windows & Microsoft, including that they're incredibly intrusive and presumptuous busybodies.
But you haven't met my family: It feels like home. And because it's such an enormously popular consumer platform, solutions to the intrusions and presumptions are usually available within hours or days of the first annoyance, and for free (unless the guy asks for coffee money)... And they're written and documented for non-programmers to comprehend and configure.
I've learned enough Linux to make the switch a number of times, but have always held back. Someday it will have to happen. But by then, VM's & emulators might well make the pain (and performance hit [mine, not the computer's]) tolerable.
